Things done to death in stories

Ever come across things in adult stories that you just wish would stop appearing? Here's things that immediately make me hit the "Back" button on my browser because they've been done to death:

1. Anatomy sizes. Ever seem like no man in a story has a dick less than 8 inches and no thinner than a beer can? Ever seem like no woman in a story has less than DD breasts?

2. Ever notice how most stories where the woman is the main character start by her admiring herself naked in front of a mirror (giving the author an opportunity to describe her usually DD-sized breasts) and then starts to masturbate?

3. Ever notice how most women in stories have faucet-like pussies that gush so much upon arousal that they almost get the floor wet? I don't know of too many women who get wet enough to completely soak their panties and get the whole insides of their thighs wet with lubrication. Actually, I don't know of any woman with this ability.

4. Ever notice how most men in stories ejaculate so much they could fill a milk jug? Most men can only manage between a teaspoon and a tablespoon of semen. But to read stories, you would think men could put out fires just by jerking off at them.

Just thought I'd vent a little about my annoyances with adult stories.

Great thread, and I totally agree with you on all of your points. Whenever I see a mention of bra size, I'm pretty much done with that one. If authors would take a look at the Writers Resources on Literotica, they'd end up with better tales. The best stories are ordinary people engaged in extraordinary events.

I agree completely. I try to keep the characters real, in every sense of the word. Granted, there are some nine inch dicks and DD breasts in the world, but I think that "normalcy" (6-7 inches or below) happens more often than not. Unless of course, you are in the porn business.

I do notice that. Actually I think the reason for this is that many readers find that their first experience in reading erotica, i.e. published stories, novels, have this type of description. At least, it was that way for me.

hehheh, i have to say that i agree with you on most of those things =) you can check out my stories, i admit to using some of those cliches on occasion, but i swear that i try not to too often =P

Actually i dont think ANY of my females have boobs bigger than a D!!! lol, i'll admit to the dick thing, but that's only because i only write based off dicks that i've actually seen, and as i've only seen 5 in my life andt he smallest of them was 7" long... well yeah. lol. guess i'm just lucky or something.

i think when author's say "soak their panties" they just mean the crotch... which i have to admit i HAVE done on occasion, but i also wear very thin panties. lol.

heh... i WILL recommend two stories by Drksideofthemoon - they've both got "Tonya Teaser' somewhere in the name/description, and two of my stories ("Angel To the Rescue" and "Good & Evil Vs. Anonymous" which are humor/satire stories where we make fun of a lot of that kind of stuff =) and i think you've just given me more material for my next one! so thank you! lol

Hi,
I have to agree with the others on here myself. I've found that in the stories that feature a man that has a very large penis(9,10 or larger) or ordinary women endowed with super large breasts, I have to just sort of grin and take it with a grain of salt.
I feel sorry for those women, because that must surley be a very uncomfortable feeling, having all that weight hanging from their chests.
As for the well endowed gents, well sure, i know they exist, but just sorta feel left out because evidently, I was in the wrong line when they were passed out.
My favorite peeve though, is a character in the story, describing something that he has never seen, with such great accuracy. I always try and leave a little for the readers imagination to fill in as it makes the story more interactive.
I AM guilty, as are others, of doing exactly this, but am trying to tone it down somewhat because all I really want to do is write a better story than the last one I wrote.
Thanks,
Georgepat

The least the writers could do is give them back problems, for surely they have trouble walking with DDDD breasts and 13 inch cocks ;(

I always masturbate in front of the mirror. Is there some other place I could do it that surely requires the writer to utilise no imagination in providing a description of my cheerleader like body?

Hey, females can ejaculate too :catroar:

There is nothing more arousing then getting a guy off and knowing he could also put out the fire in your hair if it accidentally gets set alight by a candle.

 :rose:

I'm with you on some of those points and I'm guilty of others. My earlier stories have the "she admired her body in the mirror" cliche but I am veering away from that. As far as woman soaking their panties goes, I've seen it happen. I think another author also pointed out that woman can ejaculate too. I was never a fan of ridiculously giant boobs myself so seeing it over and over does get tiring. I will keep your tips in mind for my future writings.

I have tried very hard to make my stories beleivable and anatomically accurate. Most of my "models" are based on real people though the names have been changed to protect the guilty. It's so much easier to describe a body or person you have seen and know to a certain degree. People are so beautifully unique! I try to revel in the details that make us all individually beautiful.

I have a giant dick story and a giant boob story but both of these physical anamolies are rather centric to the tale. So much porn, visual or literary, is sex without SEXY. Personally, I'm looking for (and trying to write) the SEXY.

I have never used mirrors.....hmmm, I have to work on that one.

And it is true that alot of stories have those stereotypes.....which is a shame because that means so many people have no vision at all. Its to bad.

I know my submission, that has yet to be put on the site yet does not have the usual stereotypes in it but is more of a fantasy that myself and a long distance friend had about a year ago.

mrmgp 3. Ever notice how most women in stories have faucet-like pussies that gush so much upon arousal that they almost get the floor wet? I don't know of too many women who get wet enough to completely soak their panties [I said:

I have to let you know that some of us are rare and we can and actually do have faucet-like pussies. Actually this bothered me for a long time since I did not understand it. However, after reading alot of articles on the subject I found that I am rare, since I have this ability, but not uncommon. I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself to you. :) Now, you know someone who soaks their panties let alone leave a puddle on the floor. By the way, I agree with everything else you said......personally, I would rather use my imagination as to what the people look like. That way, everyone is satisifed with the fantsay. :)

Great post. For me the best erotica is writing that is real. I just don't go for the wham, bam, thank you ma'am stuff. I personally like a realistic story, with real emotions that I can believe. I know I probably sound like a female, not a male! I also appreciate very descriptive narration. Too often I find myself asking what the characters look like. I like my description detailed as well. Not just large breasts or wet pussy, but what do they look like? I am hoping that the characters will seem like real people that I might encounter everyday. That makes the story more realistic and exciting. I also like a lot of first person dialogue. I don't like stories that are someone telling a story.

It looks like I'm in the minority here. While I can appreciate a "real" character, it's how well the story is written that does it for me. Whether he has a 12 inch cock or her boobs can eclipse the sun, if the story is good I'll read it. I agree that it can get monotonous and that people should try different things, but I'm getting the impression from some of the other posts in this thread that if the character has exaggerated body parts then that makes the story unreadable or no good.

Just my two cents.

Biographical Note

Erich von Kahler was born on 14 October 1885 in Prague, Czechoslovakia. He studied Philosophy, Literature, Fine Arts, History, Sociology, and Psychology at the Universities of Vienna, Munich, Berlin, Heidelberg, and Freiburg before earning his Ph.D. at the University of Vienna in 1911. Thereafter he traveled in Europe, working as an author and lecturer until 1933 when he left Germany for good, following Hitler's rise to power. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1938 and became a U.S. citizen in 1944.

In the U.S. he worked primarily as a lecturer and visiting professor at a number of universities during the period 1940-1960. Among these are such universities as The New School for Social Research, Black Mountain College, Cornell, and Princeton University. His wide circle of friends, dubbed the "Kahler-Kreis" by Charles Bell, included Albert Einstein, Thomas Mann, and Hermann Broch (who wrote his novel Tod des Vergils at Kahler's Princeton house). He remained close to the Mann family after Mann's death, and his correspondence with Thomas Mann was published following his death in An Exceptional Friendship: The Correspondence of Thomas Mann and Erich Kahler. He lived the majority of his years in America in Princeton and was, like Einstein, a member of the Institute for Advanced Study. While living in Princeton he met and married Mrs. Alice (Lili) Loewy.

Kahler was a prolific writer, and the themes of his writings and lectures often reflected his political involvement, although he was a widely respected literary critic, especially of Thomas Mann. He explored the study of history, the new roles of science and technology, and the changing relationship of man to his changing world. Politically, he was an ardent supporter of the Zionist movement, a member of the Committee to Frame a World Constitution, and of the Emergency Civil Liberties Committee, as well as numerous anti-war / anti-bomb groups.

He died at home in Princeton in 1970 and was survived by his wife Alice and a step-daughter. Alice Loewy Kahler died in 1992.

Ha! I actually caught myself doing this with all the women in one story and I had to stop and roll back a bit. The reason is simple, my wife is one of those faucet-like women. I guess it just kept creeping in there because it seemed natural and normal. Like Bitch2003(no offense :D ) said, rare and wonderful women they are. Maybe not as rare as one might think though.

But not so common that 4 out of 5 stories seem to feature women like this. I just think it's become an overused cliche. When I read a story where someone is trying to tell me that once again, a woman got so turned on she soaked her panties and after taking her panties off, she dripped enough lubricant to coat her thighs all the way to the knees and left a big puddle on the bed or dripped on the floor, it's too much to believe. I've touched pussies that were so wet I felt like I had just stuck my fingers in a cup of oil, and even orally stimulated one woman to gush, but have yet to find a woman who can stand up while fully aroused and have her thighs get soaked in lubricant and drip on the floor. I'm not saying they don't exist, but they don't exist so much that the vast majority of stories should contain women who have this "talent".

Exactly. Lol. I tend to "gush" a little more than most girls i know, but not enough to soak my panties, and ia ctually dont know anyone who does. this may be because half of my friends don't WEAR panties, but if they DID gush then they probably would. i doubt they'd be walking around completely bare there at least. that just seems uncomfortable and asking for a wet spot.

also wanted to say about the breast size, someone said something about it hurting, FUCK YES. i have D cups (which is why most of my characters do) and they huuuurt when you're running up and down stairs. i am natually blessed with very PERKY D's that look like i'm weraing a bra even when i'm not, but in that i am DEF a rarity. i dont know many women who are my cup size and odn't have to wear a bra in order to keep from sagging.

you know what i'm tired of? all the first tiem stories where everything just happens naturally and beautifully. like, come one now. i understand that readers want the people to cum, but at least give them a few awkward moments if both of them are virgins! i write first time stories just like everyone else, and of course they cum at the end, but if they're both virgins than i try to put SOMETHING in that's a little more awkward or at least not perfect. and why do the virgin females ALWAYS have a hymen that breaks open with a burst of pain? i lost my hymen WAY before i had sex, and i didn't feel any pain at all when i lost my virginity either. i'm having to write first time stories for the survivorphile contest and 'm finding it hard to do without all hte cliches, but i'm really trying becuase i'm SO TIRED of reading those stories!

I agree, although some authors are making the effort not to do that. I have a saying that is bugging me. Every time somebody gets it up the ass they feel like they're being split in two. Let's try to think of some other way to say it, OK.

Yeah, that's an irritating cliche, too. What's more irritating is the author trying to get us to believe the woman actually enjoys feeling as though her ass is being split like a piece of wood. Another reason why I prefer erotica written by women for women--it's just so much more realistic than most of the male-written stuff. Why do so many men just assume that women can't get off unless their orifices are being stretched to perverse and obviously painful extremes?

The least the writers could do is give them back problems, for surely they have trouble walking with DDDD breasts and 13 inch cocks ;(

Well, my treasure, while I don't have a 13 inch cock as well as large breasts, I do have "G" cup tatas and I readily admit - my back is killin' me!!!! Oye, I'd have them *trimmed* if my insurance would cover it.

There is nothing more arousing then getting a guy off and knowing he could also put out the fire in your hair if it accidentally gets set alight by a candle.
I caught my hair on fire by a candle in a birthday cake and, alas, my man did not dowse it by - dowsing it.

I totally agree with all that has been said - OK, except for that boobs and Bobbett combo part : :D

yeah.... here's my thing.... where women cum and cum and cum again like that ac/dc song. you just have to fuck 'em up the ass, and they're cumming. i wish i was that orgasmic. i just don't know anyone who is.... you guys should check out my story. it's my first submission.... if you're not into rough buttfucking, then you might wanna skip it.... (no specifics on dick, or titty size. no standing in front of a mirror admiring my shapely legs, and "heart-shaped" ass either. lol...!)

i actually know someone who is and i'm intensely jealous of her, but yeah, she's the only person i know who's like that.

anyway... i also just wanted to say that i use the "split" simile, mostly becuase tada... that IS what it feels liek. that or a baseball bat... something big that shouldn't REALLY be fitting up there. and that's what i like about it! lol... it's hot and i like a little pain and roughness (and will def be checking out that story! lol). but i know what people mean... like, seriously if someone's an anal virgin and you have a big ole whacking dick and you just shove in with just spit for lube... oh fucker that's gonna hurt. I always try to make sure that my heroines get off from like, fingering during anal or something like that. anal orgasms are RARE, ESP for the first time!

i gotta say though, i've been whipping out the thesauras lately when i'm writing becuase i have noticed that i used a lot of the same things over and over. and i mean, they work but you know, i get bored writing it so i'm trying to branch out and do some new things too =) maybe everyone just needs to check out the online thesauras when they're writing!

I agree....

First I have to thank Goldeniangel for putting a plug in for Tonya Teaser...I need all the help I can get...LOL!!!

I agree with a lot of the comments that was in the initial post.

I don't think I've ever actually mentioned a penis size, or breast size, except for in the Tonya Teaser stories, and those are humorous tales where exageration is used as part of the humor.

I may use "large", or "big", but those are all relative terms, if the largest erection one has seen is 5 inches, then a 6 inch will seem large, and the same goes for breast size, if the largest breast one has seen is a 32A, then a 36C will seem enormous, I try to steer clear of using numbers...I hope the imagination of the reader will fill in the small details.

I try to write erotic stories, all of my stories have a plot...some are better than others, I try to make my characters believable. Most of the characters are composites of people that I know, or have known. It is my hope that most of the readers can relate to my characters, maybe they remind them of someone they know, or someone from their past.

Well, there you have it, two cents from me...

Two of my pet peeves:

1. The happily married woman who meets Mr. 12 inch, and proceeds to treat her husband like a dog... forcing him to lick her to clean her up and maybe getting a BJ once in a while. He watches her get fucked by a "real dick" while playing with his "worthless noodle" in the corner. They fuck all night, which brings me to peeve #2...

First the woman abandons a perfectly good marriage for a big dick... then the husband stays!

2. Guys with endless cum... lasting all night cumming over and over and over... "I blew my 5th load up her gaping ass."

3. ANYTHING WITH TEENS AND PRE-TEENS! YUCK

Yep, those things make me hit the "back" button as well. I think authors of these kinds of stories spend too much time watching porn and too little time in the real world having real sex. Sure, there are some guys who can fuck and cum all night, but they aren't so prevalent that they should be so commonly featured in stories.

3. ANYTHING WITH TEENS AND PRE-TEENS! YUCK

Teens are all right as long as the boys aren't jerks and the girls aren't cunts. But preteens don't do anything for me. I especially hate preteen stories where the little girl gets boned by a man with the stereotypical long and thick dick and she instantly turns into a nymphomaniac who orgasms repeatedly while being molested. Yeah, like that shit really happens. Must be a pedophile's dream girl. I just can't see anyone with a normal mind getting turned on by preteens.
