Yep. Just like on Public Television. Different FCC rules and regs. They curse all the time on college radio too.

Well...as evidenced by your own ears, they *CAN.

Now...as far as FCC regulations are concerned, they can be fined. But...chances are, without someone listening in.....or several people filing a complaint....nothing would ever be done other than a verbal reprimand by station mgmt.

<shrug> V~~~~~~~

They swear all the time on the radio, let alone the tv, especially during the football season. Listen close enough when the cameras are on the sidelines or when the reporters are on the field and you'll hear the shit they can't bleep.

To my understanding, they can't. If someone reports them (and it always happen), they're probably be fined.

I always listen to or watch the Howard Stern and whenever he has some dumbass on his show or on the phone who uses vulgar language, he has to "bleep" them off.

After one of the short track races this year, either Bristol or Richmond, I forget which, Rusty Wallace was being interviewed after a race, and the censors missed him saying "Shit"

I found it pretty funny, since NASCAR goes to great lengths to make their drivers look more wholesome, well-behaved and make sure they aren't surrounded by controversy like pro-athletes in other sports.

Who said it? A commentator, or an interviewee? If it was an NPR employee, which one was it?
