Tonight's episode of CSI: New York was about a BDSM related homicide.

In what little of the episode I saw, I caught such precious lines as:

"[I can't remember] years of marriage and this is what it takes to get you off?! I'll put you in a submissive position!"

"No stop! You can't violate her trust!"

The scene itself was actually pretty hot. They had this car rigged up so that someone could be suspended upside down in front of the hood with their head just inches above the road. Apparently the bottom had a speed fetish. It all went wrong when she hit the panic button and her husband ignored the safe signal.

Moral of the story guys:

DON'T IGNORE SAFEWORDS!!!

Keep it SSC and the Ds will be off your back. You kids play nice now, ya hear? ;)

I have to wonder. Does Marquis refuse to watch CSI: Miami?

I don't watch much television at all.

My mate caught this while looking for an update on the tropical storm coming our way.

Last update I caught on it was headed straight toward the Ft. Laud/Miami area... batten down the hatches. (Be safe, you guys!)

Yes, you've all had such lousy luck with weather this past year.

My heart goes out to all of you. Good luck, be safe!

I don't know about him, but I refuse. I hate that guy with the red hair (he will remain nameless).

You see, I was a STRONG fan of NYPD Blue. Actually, I think it got much better, after the first season.

As for this show...I'm sorry I missed it. I'm not a regular, but I do enjoy it when I have the time. Those CSI shows are good, but some of what they do to solve crime is a little fake, you know. Sorry, if I've burst someone's bubble.

If he hadn't violated her trust, there wouldn't have been a plot for the show. Although, I am sometimes disturbed that they pick on our lifestyle to use in their plots. You know how it works. They first need a bad guy, and the more interesting he is, the better the plot twists can be.

I don't usually watch the CSI shows. Maybe because they're on CBS. I don't get CBS as clear as I would like in my area. I'm more of a "Law and Order" viewer (ABC), but I don't even watch those shows that often, either. I guess I do have a life, at times.

But, in both shows (as with most crime dramas), the first five minutes is key to the plot. The more instesting those five minutes are, the better for the ratings. I'm sure it's interesting to an outsider to see a woman victim and find out she was killed in a breath play scene that got out of hand, etc., or maybe the woman's body has terrible whip lash marks on it, and she's bound in duct tape, her panties are stuffed in her mouth, etc., because she didn't use a safe call to a friend, when she went to meet a new play partner. Or, maybe she did and the friend was afraid to go to the police, when the scene went bad. All of this is then solved in the ensuing hour.

Even worse, but more interesting for the outsider would be a note pinned to what clothing is remaining that says "she wanted it" or maybe it might say "she was a bad girl, but she won't be bad again" or maybe "sleep now, my sweet slave." Those scenarios tend to grip the viewer and glue them in their seat, watching the plot unfold, minute by minute.

Come on, people, vanillas LOVE this kind of thing. They eat it up and can't get enough of it, because they are kink voyeurs. We live in a sick, twisted world. And they think WE are the sick ones.

But, the moral is a true one. Don't ignore safe words. We don't need one of these CSI stories to be based on factual events. That kind of crap is unecessisary. Make Anthony Zuiker and Dick Wolf come up with their own plot lines.

I am so mad at myself it is ridiculous.

I've been meaning to put hurricane safe windows in my place since I bought it, but it's a major expense and I've tried to put it off as long as I could. So I have the charming "Florida style" windows that open up outwards with a crank.

I can't tell you how charmed I am that my windows are flapping like fish and the wind is blowing so hard I feel like I'm about to meet the Wizard of fucking Oz. I have water in my bedroom and it's probably going to get flooded.

All in all, things aren't tooooo bad, this should be milder than last year's main hurricane for this area. Of course, I was in a different place then. How the fuck did this place survive that storm?

Still, I probably won't have power for much longer, and I'm willing to bet there was an evac order for my area so if I get hurt I'm likely to be on my own. This is probably the last chance I have to evacuate, and it's probably not safe to do so now. Regardless, I gotta stay and protect my shit. I can always duck into a bathroom or go to a neighbor with a more secure unit if things get out of control.

Everything is flooded guys! The kid is NOT happy.

I know you don't want to hear this now, but if that's the worst of it, it's only water. I've heard of people down there screwing their windows shut. I know it's not a sure fix, but couldn't you try that?

No, I've never been in a hurricane. We only have tornados, here. If your house is in the path of one of those, screws won't help a whole lot. But, tornados are a more personal variety of storm. Your house can be gone, and the neighbor's not even touched. A hurricane is a more social variety of storm. When it comes to visit, it visits most everybody.

I'm sorry to hear about the flooding. But, remember...you're just a Dom. We aren't an imortal breed. I understand you need to watch your stuff, but don't take that to the extreme.

I thought L & O was NBC? I'm actually more of a West Wing watcher; I'm developing a major Allison Janney fetish. (Don't laugh, okay? She's tall and sexy and HOT.)

We have lots of posters in Katerina's path; hope everything works out good there.

And no school was not closed those three days.

My parents moved to Florida because of my dad's arthritis a couple years ago; they moved back a couple months ago. My dad did nothing but clean up one mess after another, wait patiently for power to be restored, and go through the seemingly endless evacuate or do not evacuate debate.

He said two years down there was worse than ten years of northern midwest weather at its worse.

Hooray for no school, Marquis... I hate to say it, DVS, but I'd be right there with him. If my house ever burns down I'm going to end up going down with it trying to save everything...

L & W? Were you thinking about West Wing, while you were trying to type the initials of Law and Order?

Yes, my bad. It's on NBC, not ABC. But, I don't feel so bad now, typing an A in place of an N, when you've typed a W in place of an O.

In both cases, the correct key is on the opposite hand. I'll let you off the hook if you do so with me. And, I agree with you on West Wing. But, I know Janney is hot, I just don't see her that way on WW. I like Donna, and another gal, who I can't remember her name now, but she wasn't on the show last season, I don't think.

If I have my women correct, she was one of the leads in Fried Green Tomatos. Am I right in that thinking? And as far as WW goes, I wonder what will happen this coming season. It's taken such a strange, but interesting turn.

No need to resond to that last qustion. We would hijack the thread for too long. Think of it as a rhetorical question or something.

Last of the hijack...

I fixed the O, thank you. I'm so glad to be off your hook, Mr. Scary Ass One. giggling madly

Arctic winds eh?

/reminisces -60C wind chill

And school wasn't closed because of the weather. It was because it was the Christmas holidays.
