They can't keep their hands off the boys, don't you get it?

Wow, I was browsing media matters and I came across this gem. It's an interview with Bill Donohue on CNN. The last line really summarizes the entire interview, "They can't keep their hands off the boys, don't you get it?". You know it's funny, despite the bitching from conservatives about the liberal media and the evils of CNN and ABC.... when they have a conservative guest on their show they tend to let the person actually speak. Compare that to a fox interview though where a liberal guest is constantly being talked over with GOP talking points. Personally I think CNN is pretty nonpartisan.

Well it's kinda funny, we are talking about the catholic church here, if they turn over the pedophile priests they are admitting that praying and getting absolved of their sins doesn't work. Which basically says we are a bunch of leeches trying to pilfer cash out of you, which they more or less are. Not to say they don't do any good of course.

They know just doing confession and praying doesn't work, but they can't admit it doesn't either, many priests have quit because of the pedophiles and other stuff, where do you think the new age churches come from? ;)

In a way really, the catholic church is just the new royal family, they protect each other even though for the most part, they don't really like each other. I'm sure if you can manage to talk to each bishop and get them to honestly say who they do not like in the priesthood, they are going to point to every single pedophile, even though they are protected from prosecution as fully as they can manage, unless said bishop is one of the pedophiles.

Firstly, Bill Donahue is an idiot.

Secondly, how much do you watch Fox News?

Agreed.

Secondly, how much do you watch Fox News?

At least 4 times a week on average, mostly their "hardcore" news section, not the opinion area. Now if you want to talk about Fox 5, I'd say a lot of people at fox 5 are pretty liberal but the Fox network(and I'm not even talking about the opinion section like fox and friends or beck but the "fair and balanced" news portion) is ridiculously slanted... now that's okay. You can have a news station that is a news branch of a political party, that's acceptable. My problem is that they claim to be nonpartisan and with no leanings. If you want to be the conservative news branch then do it but at least admit it.

Actually that's not true, I do watch clips of beck and friends through media matters but I don't watch their programs in entirety much anymore. I'm still considering going to the 2010 rally to hear glenn's "100 year plan". You know, if he's right and the US is going to be destroyed in the next 5 years you'd think he'd call it the 5 year plan. I'm assuming the other 95 years involves some type of foraging system with which to stockpile food during the coming fascist/communist Armageddon.

Sorry if I have posted this sentence before, but FOX TV = FUCKS TV ;) it is a great play on words there, they have made in the long run. And sorry for going totally off topic in this thread. And I think the catholic church is one big rats nest .

Catholicism

I find it absolutely ironic that in a culture that cannot pick at a lot of things because it is considered bigotry, we can all knock the crap out of the pinata that is Catholicism.
"Hey don't hate me because I am Wiccan (insert any thing with a persecution complex) Oh wait, you're Christian or a denomination there of? Awesome I get to hate you because you are so intolerant"

Bill Donahue is an idiot. Definitely.

I chose Wiccan because I am Wiccan-so no I am not Catholic or Christian.
That established: Child Molestation is NOT akin to Homosexuality.
That in itself is insulting, and completely off base.
How obnoxious
You know Bill Donahue is an idiot but I at least wanted to get a good laugh at him. Fail. Bill that one was not even funny

Oh please. That "pinata" owns most NYC real estate, shuts down art exhibits every time it whines, and no one's saying "Wow I hate the Catholic laity" they're saying "these motherfuckers are raping children IN the Catholic laity and abusing people's souls as well as bodies."

If you want to buy the victimization stance the same cardinals who are covering up Boston and CA are putting on, be my guest. Criticizing baby rape is not religious bigotry.

There are problems with sexual abuse in every religion - the resources spent and exhausted in cover up make this unique.

That's how often, not how much.

So who are they interviewing who is being interrupted during the "hardcore" news and who is doing the interviewing? I don't see Bret Baier and Shephard Smith doing that any more than the anchors of ABC or CNN. Bill O'Reilly interrupts people a lot but that's the way he is and I think you'll agree he's not a reporter.

I think I watch the opinion shows in addition to the news more, so maybe that's it.

I don't really see how it would be much different from MSNBC except they're just slanted the other way. For that matter all the major news stations claim to be "fair and balanced" or "the source" for news or suchlike but naturally they have a bias. It's just advertising versus human nature.

I would agree that CNN is less biased than most other TV news networks, but since I think US TV News is flashy, emotional and sensationalistic in general, that's not saying much.

Yes, criticizing baby rape is not religious bigotry, but nor is recognizing that there are people who hate Catholics (there are people who say as much) the same thing as buying the victimization stance.
