Hey y'all, this may distress many of you, but Laurel has made me Moderator of F&S as just a few minutes ago. Nobody seems to know what happened to Chargergirl who has been gone for months. I'm going through the Report queue that contains reports going back several months. If you reported something and feel like it wasn't addressed ... well, it probably wasn't, but should be soon.

I intend to be fair, but I may guide some threads also and/or move posts to more appropriate threads

.

OK, Then!

Someone has to blow the damned whistle and keep Jackasses lined out.
I have never had any trouble out of a Moderator in 22 years and don't expect to now.

If I am fucking up,let me know and I will fix it!

End of incident!

I can’t deny some feelings of trepidation, induced by your “very fucking ANGRY” strapline, compounded by your use of the word“Sheriff” in your post. “Sheriff“ and “Moderator” are two very different animals in my book - I hope you lean towards the more moderate end of the spectrum…….

@Older_Pervert It’s just an expression. 🙄 And, given how many folks on the site blatantly disregard the forum rules (which exist to keep the site in existence), I am thankful when active members step up to moderate.
Thanks for your reply, I wasn’t really expecting one! I’m sure it’s a difficult and thankless task; but as long as it’s approached in a moderate frame of mind I’m sure all will be fine 👍

Not so much more liberal as a grey area.. My position is that explicit pictures should only be linked. They should not display openly at all. But that isn't the wording in the rules, so I'm left somewhat confused and I've never been able to get a more narrow definition.

Regardless of what is posted at the top of various forums, the full site rules and guidelines are here:

It's not so much the inital visibility, but certain images must be kept off the literotica operated servers.
.
Other sites are willing (able) to store images (because they are off shore, and/or their local laws allow) which will get the literotica in trouble with U. S. authorities.
.
Seeing an image as the page is displayed vs. following a link is not near the problem as the image in a place literotica is responsible for and being something US law forbids possession of.

That is my general understanding too. Linking also offers the easy ability to take one's images down. Although anyone can easily sneak a screenshot when they are visible, removing them at linked source means their live visibility is under the poster's control. It also offers better resolution and the ability to post linked video.

I had a few convos with chargergirl - she was always friendly and made me feel at home. I home she's doing okay now, whatever that is.
Jafo - you could scoop a few pic threads out of the GB. They're a pain! Good luck in the job and keep your vest on.

If you decide to have your Close Your Literotica Account, we will do our best to remove your posts before removing the account, but please be aware that once you’ve posted in the forum, those posts become part of the public internet and they may be quoted in any number of places. You have the ability to edit posts - deleting text and removing any attachments - on your own. The administrators will not delete your posts just because you changed your mind about what you said. You can edit your own posts as you see fit. Please do not contact us about removing your posts.

If you bump a thread that's more than a year or so old, your post is probably going to get deleted.

Good luck! I love F&S and check it out every day. We have some fantastic people posting and sharing. We do have those posters who seem to try and hijack every new thread and also those who like to post a link and it turns out to be a bad link, or ad or some place that attacks your computer, but generally they are all good people. I love everyone sharing their experiences and pics, which I would like to see posting your own pics made easier but that could be me. Anyhow, keep it going!!

I see that our self-styled sheriff has now arbitrarily closed down the Moms Next Door 5 thread, apparently on the spurious grounds that EssexMan is a bot! I’ve exchanged messages with EM and he’s definitely not a bot! This is a perfectly harmless thread.
JaFo is , however an officious, interfering, angry man who has no place being a moderator. Bad pick, I’m afraid

Sometimes those oldies fire up and interesting line of discussion. Just saying.
And we look at those. If they're not several years old and the bump is somewhat relevant, it's OK. But what we've been seeing is newer members going back in time and bumping a number of 5, 10 or 15 year old threads with very short comments that don't add to the thread.
