There go the sirens again

Volunteer firefighters from several villages. Somebody's house is burning down. Poor people. Can see it from here. Huge billows of black smoke. I worry that it might be spreading, as it's bigger than a few minutes ago. The houses are so close here. The next village over, so no worries for me. Not that y'all would care much anyway.

On the contrary I to have a volunteer fire department across the street and every time they go out I cringe.

Actually, I am on a volunteer fire dept. Most in the US do have pagers or walkie-talkies. I have a walkie, and that is a lot better as we can talk to each other as we respond. I am glad you are safe. Remember be safe, have smoke detectors, be safer, sleep with a fireman!!
