There are 48 fires on my little island today.

Two are extreme/catastrophic, and have caused property loss.
Two are severe, and residents are on alert to evacuate.
Seven are being watched, with residents warned to keep up to date with information.

It has been extremely hot for the past couple of days, and winds are up to 100km/hr.

We've had extreme heat conditions for a few days, after a very dry winter.
Te fire service is saying that most of these fires have been started by tourists making campfires during total fireban conditions.

I'm not going to complain, as about 11% of my personal superannuation is invested in her companies.
The more money she makes, the better for me.

Besides, there's a BIG issue with Aussies not being prepared to work in remote areas.

My kidley and I are ok so far.
We have loaded both cars (he can drive, even tho he doesn't have a license) and have opened all the back paddock gates so the stock can get to the big dam.
I have blocked the downpipes and flooded the gutters, and I have the main pump on standby.

Looks like it will be a long night.
