sounds workable. But why do they go to the same therapist to begin with?

one idea...he's a grief counsellor ( or make it a she?). Dad died in a car crash. Turns out mom is sexually frustrated missing himm. Has disturbing dreams about son, who looks just like dad when they met.

son is just horny? or worried about mom's nighmares?

at first I wasn't sure why a counselor should suggest something forbidden like incest.

But what about this: it's a female counselor. I guess she is a friend of the mother.

Maybe the counselor was envy, because the mother married this guy (the counselor wanted him, too).
However, this guy died in a car crash (maybe on the way to pick his wife up after the gym or something like that) . So now, the counselor blames the mom for the death (but she doesn't tell her).

So now, the counselor wants to humiliate the mother. They suggests to make the incest real. And then, when she knows that mother and son really have sex, she sends an anonymous letter to the newspaper (I guess the mother is a (local ?) celebrity).
