Damn! TheGlobalSoul has published The Green Door as his own. This story, almost word for word, to the best of my memory, was thought to be 20+ years old when I first read it in 1963 or '64 as Behind The Green Door. The original author was apparently that internationally famous and prolific writer, anon. There was, of course the famous movie (which acknowledged the source) from the early(?) 70's that scorched Ivory Snow's butt.

As well known as this story and movie are, I am surprised this undiguised copy would be accepted.

are you sure it's word for word? plagarist is a pretty heavy word to be throwing around.

It is as close as my memory can supply. It has less variation from the original than the movie. I'm guessing you never saw the original story. But I can tell you that 40 years ago this story had a tremendous impact on anyone reading it.

I suggest you locate a copy of the movie. It is considered to be a milepost among porn movies, along with Deep Throat, The Devil In Miss Jones, and Taboo.

There is a considerable difference between being influenced by a story, and copying so closely that there is no "new."

I stand by my allegation.

i've heard about it, but never seen it. in fact, the only one of those you mentioned i have seen is taboo.

and i was just asking.

cheating

That's low. If you feel confident that it's a rip-off (I haven't seen the movie but I know it's considered a classic in the genre), you can PM Laurel with the details and she'll take care of it. This sort of thing is *not* tolerated at Lit.

TheGlobalSoul: Plagerist Supreme

This isn't an isolated incident. At least two other stories posted by TheGlobalSoul are shameless thefts. The second chapter of Noriko: Secret Agent is lifted whole-cloth from The Aerosol Kid's Akiko series with a 'find and replace' job done on the main character's name. The second chapter of 'Spy Game' is really Sara Hart's Absolute.

This is absolutely disgusting. We write with no compensation but the pride of a well written story and the occasional feedback from readers. To steal something that is freely given is the lowest form of theft.

I haven't seen the movie or read the story, but you guys seem to know what you're talking about. I really can't understand why someone would want to plagiarise other's works, i mean, the whole idea of writing is to create something of your own, there's no sense of accomplishment in passing off someone else's works as yours...the point is definitely lost to me. If it's anyone that's losing out, it's him - TheGlobalSoul - because obviously he has no talent if he has to parsel off work as his own that he didn't in fact write.

Idiots abound

Please PM Laurel with the facts (and the link to this thread) and she will ban this idiot from Lit. Same thing for any other cheat that you pick up in the future. She's pretty good about such things but she relies on us to help. Of course, the cheat can come back and repost under a different name. But nothing's perfect in this world.

Problem solved

I told the Aerosol Kid to contact Laurel, since his was one of the stories stollen and he's a friend. TheGlobalSoul's plagerism, and anything s/he happened to actually write, have been removed from the site.

This is a great site with responsible webmasters. I'm glad I decided to start putting my stuff here!

Yes!

Several of us here have had stories "borrowed" and used without permission on other websites (there are still several threads running around about this).

We brought this to Laurel's attention - she immediately contacted the webmaster and those specific site administrators - problem solved.

I took advice from KillerMuffin: from time to time, it's a good idea to do a google search - use your story title or an unusual sentence in quotes for the search. Hopefully the only link to your story will be Literotica!
