Greetings all, I just wanted to take a moment to greet my fellow community. I have perused the site for many years, but only recently have I decided to take the next step and submit some stories myself.

I think it would be boring if we all wrote in the same way. Your style is certainly more suited for stroker stories which has a large fan base here. Other styles are better suited for storytelling. That's one thing I like about LE. There is a wide variety of content here.

I, for one, tend to scroll through the sex scenes when reading as I'm not here for porn but stories, so I might not be part of your target audience but that doesn't mean your stories or your style are bad.

Hey Zylphr, glad to have you aboard. It sounds like you're into "stroke stories" - that's what we call them around here. Nothing wrong with that, I've written several myself. As my pen name implies though, I get off on what people say to each other during sex. I like dialogue. So you probably won't be a fan of mine. That's ok, it takes all kinds. I'll give you a try though. I also like short-and-sweet stories and it sounds like you might keep yours tight and fast-paced. Be sure to let us know once you have a story published so I can give you a read.

I really don't write stories without dialog as life isn't without dialog. Do I write stroke stories, some of my reader think so but, mine have dialog. People talk to each other, even while they are fucking.

You'll find that contributors here embody just about every possible perspective on what makes a story erotic. Hold fast to your own principles but keep an open mind when communicating with others about theirs.

Your comment about dialogue was interesting. Personally, I could not disagree more. It has nothing to do with Harlequin romance. Dialogue, in my view, is an essential part of what makes interaction between a man and a woman erotic. Quotation marks also break up the monotony of long chunks of narrative and make the story LOOK more interesting. So, while you may or may not care, I think you'll find that you are in the minority on that subject, even among those looking primarily for "stroke" stories.

I agree, for the most part, that dialogue makes for a better story. Can't argue that at all. But it makes it a 'story'. Without dialogue, it makes it believable.

If you tell your friends about some date you when on, you likely aren't often quoting back and forth what was said, and if you did... nobody's going to believe you actually did what you are claiming. I like to take a reader into the proverbial shoes of the storyteller. Someone reads my story, they are almost guaranteed to think I'm relaying something that actually happened... unless of course it's some mind-controlling device that fell off an alien saucer or something.

If it's that level of believable, then they should be able to envision themselves as having been there, done that. Ie:

I ran to the end of the street, panting in exhaustion as I watched the taillights disappear.

Mike ran to the end of the street, panting in exhaustion as he watched the taillights disappear.

The first lets you be the character. The 2nd lets you mind's eye some other character named Mike.

That's all I'm trying to say. For the "stroker story", the 1st let's you be the character, which is far more (for myself anyhows) likely to envision yourself, as than if it's Mike.

Anyhows, just saying that as I write, it's with the goal and intent of letting the reader be the main character, to feel like it's his story. Not in telling a great story.

Zylphyr, if you are not familiar with the Loving Wives category, or followed the many threads that have been opened in this forum to discuss it, let me prepare you.

There is a substantial contingent of Loving Wives readers who absolutely HATE cuckold stories, or any sort of story where the wife has sex outside of wedlock and the husband authorizes it or she gets away with it. This contingent only enjoys cheating stories when the wife is punished. They will go out of their way to bomb anyone who submits such stories with bad scores, and also to post nasty comments.

You can either just roll with that, knowing your are going to get this sort of reaction from some (but by no means all) readers in this category, or you can post your wife stories in another category that may apply. Some alternative categories for these types of stories are Exhibitionist, Interracial, Fetish, and Group Sex. Your audience in these alternative categories won't be quite as large as in Loving Wives, but it will be kinder and your story scores probably will be somewhat higher, if that matters to you.

To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of most cuck stories either. Most cuck stories seem to be about sissy hubbies or BBCs, neither of which defines the cuckold community. As a matter of fact, it's one of the reasons I can't watch cuck porn. People post vides of interracial and tag it as cuckolding, despite the fact there's no husband in the video, or it's the husband being diminished. To me, cuckolding is only a step under Stag, but whereas a Stag only watches or joins in as a co-partner, a Cuckold will be more bisexual in their participation. It's my bisexuality tendencies that make it desirable. And I'm only very mildly bisexual, as the idea of being with a man is quite unappetizing to me, unless a woman is involved.

But, neither here nor there. Again, thanks for the heads up, but like I said, I'll just roll with it, and not take it personal if those stories have lower ratings.

Here's another warning. Men who come into contact with each other beyond a high five in any category other than Gay Male tends to attract large numbers of low votes and nasty commentary as well.

So steel yourself for that possible response if any of your stories have men engaging each other as well as the woman — even in the most minor ways.

(Again) However... I find that I rapid page-down often in stories, because they tend to aim for more literature than masturbatory material. I rarely read anything inside of "quotes", and consider those stories to be the Harlequin Romance of erotica. Probably great for the female readers, but horrible distractions for someone who treats literotica as an alternative to porn.

"I recommend not generalising too much about readers based on gender. Plenty of women who read stroke, plenty of men who are looking for plot."

You left off "for me", although you may have implied it. Or you left off "in stroker stories", although that's also a matter of personal opinion.

My stories rely heavily on dialogue, but they are also not intended to be purely stroker material. And I personally don't believe dialogue makes a story less believable.

Welcome Z — Looking forward to reading your first story. Be sure to put a link to it in your signature...there's also a Story Feedback forum and you can post a link there too. I'm always keen to learn about the many ways a story can be crafted. I'll hold back any judgement/opinion until I read one of your no-dialogue works.

I would also strongly second the advice given already about including any male/male sex in any category other that Gay Male — especially Loving Wives. Gay Male is where your most appreciative audience will be for Cuckold with m/m sex. But if you want a lot of readers, then Loving Wives is the place — just know that at least half of them will hate your story and you...and go out of their way to let you know it But, I suspect that you're already an avid LW reader and know this. Regardless, best wishes and hope you find writing these little stories as fulfilling as I do.
