Jacob bar-Levi led his small band of Zealots out of the cave and in ambush on the Roman auxiliary century below them, determined to cut them down immediately. The accursed Romans had no place in Galilee or Judea, so this was just another holy expedition to expel the unwanted invader. It worked for Judas the Maccabee against the Syrians, so why not against the Romans?
