After months of waiting for the highly anticipated Football league to start up, it finaly made it's debut. So, what did you think of it overall? I'm not realy a football fan myself, but I got a kick(no pun intended) out of it. It was definatly different.

I watched some of the first half

It was weird with the camera so close and I was confused as to what I was hearing and what the crowd was hearing. They could start some real sh*t by interviewing players during the course of the game. And how long before someone nails that overhead cam! It was cool having a sitting govenor as color man. Hell, he was a lot better than Dennis Miller!

Once I got over the 'newness' aspect of different camara angles, sound, etc. it wasn't too bad. The ability level of most of the players is definitely below that of the NFL but one had to expect that level of play. However, I saw a few players whom I thought were decent and exciting. The running back from Orlando was very quick and I thought has a lot of potential and the quaterbacks from Orlando and LasVegas were OK.

Once I got used to the behind the team camara angle I started to really enjoy it. It was interesting to see the 'holes' open up in the line and see how the blocks are actually done and handled. But, they need to learn how to switch faster to catch the play down field. I am still not sure if I like the field mike but it was kind of interesting to hear what play was being called.

I did not like the instant on-field interviews or the 'any name you want' concept for the jerseys. It forces me to actually learn what name goes with what number and that's not going to happen. Get rid of the on-field interviews, hated them. I don't like the way they handle the 'coin toss' and I'm not sure about the point-after-touchdown no kick rule.

The broadcast teams....I liked the play-by-play guy doing the Orlando game the best; he was much more exciting to hear. I thought the 'King' did better than the 'Body' for color.

I liked seeing the cheerleaders more often and their outfits, especially Orlando's, were interesting to say the least.

I was actualy pretty surprised by how Jerry "The King" Lawler did as a commentator for Football.

When I heard he was going to be doing that, I thought for sure he would bomb at it. Shows what I know huh? lol

I was quite surprised with the actual games. The players were true and appered as though they were "hungry" still. Which was refreshing.
The on field interviews I could do without. The cheerleaders were interesting. The color commentators need more knowledge of the game, though they did not do a bad job. The actual game play was good, it was just the antics I could do without. The "whatever name you want" on the back of the jersey is stoopid. I mean I know they are trying to be different but come on.
I will watch again. Last but not least I like the opening coin toss, er scrum sorta. I like that idea. The hits that were dished out were pretty good too. They will have to dull down some of the antics, i.e. on field interviews, etc.. though as I thought they were kind of annoying. All in all it was not bad, actually it was something "new and different" in a good way. There are 2 more games today so I will be interested to see if they do make some subtle changes.

I thought Ventura had better cutting or jarring comments but Lawlor added more excitement. I didn't like when Lawlor would revert to his stupid WWF type of comments about the cheerleaders.

I enjoyed the games Saturday and plan to watch the games today as well.

I'm going to reserve judgement until at least week three. So far it hasn't been horrible enough to keep me from watching any more games. But I'm going to wait and see how things settle out after the premier hype fades a bit.

I have the same feeling WH, I will see what happens once the hype dies down a bit. There is alot of hype and they need a few weeks to sort things out some and modify things here and there, all in all I think they did a decent job so far, just some tweaking is needed.
