The Office and Study of Professor Charles Xavier

Scott Summers has starred into the eyes of monsters. He has met their gaze and seen evil, malice and hatred without shaking. Right now, he is not looking into the eyes of a monster but a man. Professor Charles Xavier, the man who taught him, the man who protected him, the man who trusted him. The X-Man called Cyclops looks into his mentor’s eyes and doesn’t see evil, malice or hatred. But for the first time since he met the Professor Cyclops sees disappointment. And that has shaken him more than anything.

“With Havok, Madrox, and Nightcrawler down, X-Calibre, X-Factor and X-Force are without team leaders.”[/I} Scott Summers says.

“That leaves us vulnerable professor, I know, but I will immediately begin to”

“I’m not worried about the teams Scott.” Xavier’s says interrupting Cyclops impatiently, almost angrily.

”I’m worried about my X-Men. What is their status?” The Professor finishes.

“They are fine. We were able to extract them in time. They neutralized the threat and Elixir has been helping them to recuperate. We don’t know when they will be able to resume active status on away missions but they should be able to resume their status as teachers at the school as soon as.…” Scott trails off as he sees Xavier glare at him.

“There are more important things than our role as X-Men Scott. Some things are even more important than our role as teachers. We have a duty as friends, as family, to protect those we care about. Do not gloss over the issue Scott. We won’t proceed with ‘business as usual”. You must accept what happened.”

”I know that I failed Professor, I accept full responsibility-” Scott begins before Xavier interrupts.

”The failure was mine as much as yours if not more so. Naming you Headmaster of my school and a leader on my teams is a decision I’ve never regretted. But today I realize my error was instructing you to follow my model as leader without allowing you to correct the mistakes I made in that capacity. Today we will change that.”

The Professor turns to his computer.

“Danger” he says.

The computer becomes electrified and a bright light emerges from the console and takes the form of a female robot. She responds to the Professor with a smile.

“From this day forward you are to permit no one at this Institute to enjoin a mission until they have been tested by you and cleared to participate in field work.”

The sentient computer turns to Cyclops to receive the final binding authorization.

”Agreed.” Cyclops says.

Danger’s telepathic ability scans Cyclops mind. Finding pure volition and no coercion her eyes sparkle.

“Understood.” she says

”No matter how urgent the mission may be we are of no help to the rest of the world if we are not ready to help them Cyclops. That is the lesson we must learn from what happened.” says the Professor

Cyclops nods.

“Now that we know our teammates will recover, we’ve done our role as friends. As X-Men we must administer our responsibility to the rest of the world. Have you decided on the team leads?”

Cyclops shakes his head.

”Today we make no mistakes. I’ll make sure whoever gets the job is ready”

Cyclops hits the X-Communication device on his uniform. “All active X-Men! Report to the Danger Room Immediately."

Enter the Beast

Hank looked up from his book, hearing the communication from Scott. He sighed and set down his book. The Comprehensive study to macro-mieosis, mutations and mitosicular dangers in Homo Superior would have to wait for another day.

He stretched and hit the Comms device on his belt, looking at his almost feline form in the mirror. 'McCoy here, I'm on my way.'

He sighed and exited the room, regarding his blue fur once more before he did so. Almost subconsciously he looked down at the picture of his adopted son Matthew on his table, and made a mental note to check on him later on.

Still wondering what this gathering was all about, he began to jog, and then run on all fours to the Danger Room, determined to find out what Scott wanted them all for.

Cyclops

The current Headmaster of the Xavier Institute watches as Danger smiles then flashes in a blue light and begins to head to its own room traveling as electricity through the wires of the mansion.

Cyclops and Xavier begin to walk toward the Danger Room in a more conventional manner when they hear a loud noise come from Xavier's computer behind them. They turn to see an urgent message screen flash.

The two men look at each other and grimace. Moving his chair closer to the screen Xavier asks who the message is from.

"Col. Nick Fury" the mechanized voice says.

"Has he given a reason for the message?" the Professor asks.

"Negative." the computer replies.

"Tell Mr. Fury my teams are going through a period of...transition and that I will contact him shortly but must attend to their affairs." the professor says and then walks out of the room with Cyclops.

The Danger Room

Cyclops walks through the doors with the Professor. In a flash Danger materializes herself.

"Good to see you Forge, Elixir." Cyclops says with a smile.

The gesture is returned by both men as they give a nod of greeting and a face of worry. They are also anxious to hear what the current Headmaster and the former have to say.

Wolverine easily blocked the kick and dipped low to sweep his young opponent's legs from under him. He helped him back up, "Getting better kid, watch your balance, dont overextend yourself." He suddenly heard Summers' voice over the intercom. "We'll have to finish later, hit the showers." he said to his favored pupil. He pulled his shirt back on and thumbed his communicator. "Logan here boy scout, on my way." He said as he walked off toward the danger room, wondering what was going on.

Specter

"Umph!!" Dallas Gibson lets out a grunt as he hits the ground.

"Getting better kid."

"Ouch. I don't feel better." he thinks as he rubs his sore butt and back. Still the young student who hopes to be an X-Man one day acknowledges the compliment with a smile.

He is still sitting up on his butt as he watches the feral X-Man depart.

"Training session is over I guess. Just as well, I'm way behind on my 'Evolution of the Sentinels' report. I haven't even gotten to the chapter on Nimrod! Maybe I can borrow the cliff notes from..."

Suddenly it hits him.

"I....I just got a compliment from Wolverine. I JUST GOT A COMPLIMENT FROM WOLVERINE!!!! About my fighting!!!!" Dallas thinks excitedly.

"Man, I've got to tell Julian!" he thinks as he jumps up and looks to find the telekinetic wunderkind.

Hellion heads to the Danger Room

It had been a rather uneventful morning at the Institute. Julian had been able to sleep in, a rarity as the early part of the days were usually bustling with activity. He was planning on joining some of the students on the grounds who had organized a game of touch football after raiding the refrigerator and pilfering some of Logan’s leftover pizza. He’d never know it was missing, and even if he did, Julian could always blame one of the students. Maybe he’d put it on Dallas. I’d been a while since he had pulled a good prank and Dallas would make a good patsy.

The game was going well, even though some of the players were breaking the “no powers” rule that had been set before they began. Callie Betto, who called herself Dryad, was one of the worst offenders. Every time she played, she always seemed to let her powers “slip,” or so she said. On the last play, Julian had been tripped by a vine, keeping him from scoring a touchdown on fourth down and giving the ball back to her team. He was fuming. She was a cheat and would get what was coming to her on the next play.

They lined up and snapped the ball. Callie was going to run it. Julian figured it would be a good time to level the playing field, or unlevel it as it were. He stepped back and focused on the earth under her feet. He’d take the top foot of soil and ripple it, just a little bit, to trip her up. As the ground began to move, he felt that drop in the pit of his stomach. He was losing control again. He’d learned to spot the warning signs, but still hadn’t figured out how to keep it from happening. All he knew is that something was about to happen.

An area of the ground under Callie, nearly a ten foot cube, rose out of the ground and shot several hundred feet into the air. Julian began to quiver as he tried to refocus, hoping to bring the ground back down without dropping or crushing it. He just wanted to get even with Callie for tripping him; he didn’t want to hurt her. He looked up at the flying mound of earth as it began its descent. It was coming down too fast. Julian couldn’t get his focus back to slow it. The other students had already backed away from the field, their eyes locked on the plummeting earth. A light puff of smoke appeared next to him just as the dirt slammed down and compacted itself into the hole it had occupied seconds before.

Callie was curled in Kurt Wagner’s arms. The blue-haired teleport was holding Callie as much as she was holding him. Julian looked to him, somewhat ashamed, and was about to speak when his communicator beeped and Cyclops’ voice rung through the crisp air.

“All active X-Men! Report to the Danger Room Immediately.”

Julian wasted no time in turning and sprinting across the grounds towards the Danger Room. He was sure he would hear about this later; another lecture from Cyclops or the Professor, but for now, it was time for some fun. The Danger Room was always a challenge, but the effort was well worth the chance to unleash and test the limits of his power.

When he stepped through the door, Cyclops and the Professor were already standing there with Forge and Elixir. By the looks on their faces, they hadn’t heard about the recent exploits in the yard.

“So Scott, what’s up? Why the urgent invite?”

Hank grunted as he turned round the final corner and came to a stop outside the danger room, where he saw Hellion, Scott, Charles, Forge and Elixer already waiting with the holographic Danger.

He shuddered, he had never got used to Dnager, and thinking back to when she had made ehr presence known, he doubted that he ever would find himself, happy around her.

He nodded to the agathered.

'Scott, Charles, Whats the problem?'

Warfly

Matt, sighed as he finished off in the shower, wondering what the day would have in store for him.

Deciding to have a nice jog around around the grounds before classes, he walked out of the shared bathroom, and made his way back to his dorm to get changed.

Suddenly a figure crashed into him, knocking him to the floor, slightly annoyed, Matt looked at the fellow student and growled, before heading off back to his room.

The student, younger than he, by several years, whimpered at the grown and ran off on his way.

Arriving in his room, Matt found two notes pushed under his door, One from his father, Beast, the other from TJ his girlfriend.

Wolverine sauntered into the danger room and saw the assembled crowd. "Looks like we got a party here professor" he said nodding to professor X "boy scout." he said simply, nodding slightly toward cyclops. "Whats going on?"

TJ's brief entrance.

TJ smiled as she walked around the corner to the Danger room, where the rest of the gang was waiting for her.

'hey all' she smiled, understanding that she was the youngest here, 'Whats we up to then?'

Cyclops

Scott Summers stood beside Professor Xavier as he watched members of the X-Men enter the Danger Room.

Among the first mutants to catch his attention was Julian Heller, the young X-Man who took his name after one of the first teams of teenage mutants. Unfortunately, that team met a tragic end. Cyclops worried that Julian Heller's reckless behavior might overwhelm awesome potential and lead him down a similarly tragic path.

“So Scott, what’s up? Why the urgent invite?” Hellion asks

Scott Summers face is expressionless.

"Before we get to that I think you need to be made aware of something." he says walking over to Hellion stiffly.

"This may be a big school with a lot of mutants running around but nothing goes unnoticed here. Certainly not anything you've been doing. The Professor and I both have a sharp eye on you. I want to tell you that I know about some of your recent activity and I want to tell you-"

Cyclops clears his throat.

"I want to tell you, good work. Your danger room sessions have been outstanding lately. Danger has given you high marks in offensive firepower and aerial support. You could stand to learn a bit of subtlety but...overall you're doing well." Scott says giving the young mutant an encouraging slap on the back.

More X-Men begin to enter. The Professor and Cyclops can sense they are anxious to learn the urgency of their summons.

"Well I don't think we need to wait any longer. More of the X-men should be arriving shortly. And others won't. As you know some of the team leaders were injured recently. They will live but won't be able to resume active status for the foreseeable future. As a result of their injury the team lead positions in X-Calibre, X-Factor and X-Force need to be filled."

Cyclops looks at the Professor. He receives a nod of approval.

"And the team leader of Generation X is stepping down." Cyclops says as he lowers his head.

"Part of the reason that our friends were injured is my fault. I can't hold my position as one of the leaders of a team and oversee the entire school. I will still be available to assist on missions and I will offer advice and counsel. But as Headmaster I can't lead the teams in the field. The Professor and I will select the leaders of each team based on their merit." Cyclops looks toward the Professor.

"Today my X-Men we will go a long way toward discovering that merit." Charles Xavier says.

"Scott and I have agreed that the health and safety of the X-Men is a premium we cannot afford to risk. We harm the world and ourselves more than we help if we are not prepared to help them. We have ordered danger to forcibly prevent any X-Man from engaging in any mission without having past a full Danger Room session to determine their readiness for the task. Effective Imm-" Professor Xavier is cut off by a loud beeping noise.

Danger begins to speak. "Electronic scanner reports perimeter breach. Urgent message from an unidentified vessel. Weapons systems down. Psionic shields down."

Professor Xavier opens his mind and scans the aircraft that has come to his school.

"Col. Fury" he says in slight astonishment. Xavier grimaces and looks a little worried.

"The Col. mentioned his message was urgent but what could be so pressing that he would travel to the School when we denied him counsel?"

"I'll finish the Danger Room session you go see what Fury wants." Cyclops says.

Professor Xavier nods and leaves the Danger Room.

"As the Professor said, the changes are effective immediately".

Cyclops speaks up.

"Danger! War Room Setting. Simulation: Genesis. Difficulty: Severe"

Unbeknown to the X-Men Professor Xavier has uploaded an amendment to Cyclops command.

Years ago he placed a program in Danger that prevented the machine from killing anyone in the Danger Room. When Danger gained sentience she overcame that program. Xavier thinks the override has outlived its usefulness.

"Xavier, Override 368293 withdrawn. Danger! Do not let me down."

The machine responds telepathically.

"I won't."

War Room Setting. Simulation: Genesis. Difficulty: DEADLY

Hank sighed and flexed his muscles, tensing himself for whatever happened.

He almost laugghed at wolverine's Outburst.

TJ smiled and summoned up some magic, prepapred for any eventuality. She had to admit she felt out of her league, as she had only recenly join x-callibre, and this lot had all been in the field for what seems like ages.

She grinned, 'Lets get ready to RUUUUMMMBBBLLLEEE!'

Into the Danger Room

Julian could tell Scott was not pleased with him. Just his stance, and the way he came and stood close to him as he spoke meant that Scott was about to give Julian a serious reprimand. He couldn’t know about the football game, not yet. Well, Kurt could have easily beaten him here with his teleporting abilities, but he didn’t think Kurt would do that to him. But the Professor, the Professor would know. He always knew, always kept his mind open to trouble.

“This may be a big school with a lot of mutants running around but nothing goes unnoticed here. Certainly not anything you've been doing. The Professor and I both have a sharp eye on you. I want to tell you that I know about some of your recent activity and I want to tell you…”

Here it comes, the chewing out. Julian almost had the rebuttal speech down pat by this point. Yes, Cyclops, I understand that it was a foolish thing to do, but it was just an accident. I lost control for a second. Yes, I know someone could have been hurt and I should be more careful. Yes, I will spend more time in the Danger Room to help me learn to control my powers better.

He had said it so many times since he came to the school that he wondered if Scott knew it was just an act to keep him off his back. Julian knew what he was capable of and he needed to get out into the world and let his powers out. He had always tried to hold back in the Danger Room after the incident with the paper clip, but he wanted to really see what his powers could do to a real target, a real threat.

Cyclops cleared his throat, no doubt getting ready to give the responsibly using your powers lecture.

“I want to tell you, good work. Your danger room sessions have been outstanding lately. Danger has given you high marks in offensive firepower and aerial support. You could stand to learn a bit of subtlety but...overall you're doing well.”

As Scott slapped Julian on the back his jaw just about hit the floor. “Good Work?” Where the hell had that come from? Scott almost never complimented him and was always lecturing him on how restraint and responsible use of power was best for the team and so on, but hardly ever a compliment.

Professor Xavier’s speech on not going into the field without first passing Danger’s test was what snapped Julian out of his befuddled moment. If Danger wanted to see what Julian could truly do, he would show her. Hopefully he wouldn’t destroy a floor like last time when he lost control, but if it meant showing Danger what he could do and getting the chance to go out into the field, he may just have to do some damage.

He grinned. It was time to unleash and see what he could do.

He stepped through the door to the Danger Room and readied himself for the upcoming trial.

The Danger Room

Light twirls around the X-Men gathered and in an instant they are in a room that resembles the Room located next to the Danger Room, the infamous War Room. The stage for battle planning and operations the fate of mankind has been decided in the room the simulation is mimicking.

Cyclops begins to speak.

"Our enemies won't give us time to regroup after a setback so we won't afford ourselves that luxury. We received this distress call 10 minutes ago."

A holographic simulation begins to emerge in front of the X-Men.

"We knew this distress signal came from someone familiar with our technology as they knew we were capable of receiving 3D holographic messages. We never could have guessed who sent it though."

The image becomes clearer to show a layout of a large mechanical facility. The immense size of the facility is staggering. In the background are large metallic, purple colored body parts.

The image becomes filled with static as if from interference then resumes clarity.

But this time the figure of the mutant called toad is lying dead on the ground. Moments more pass. An explosion occurs and another body can be seen lying in the complex. Quicksilver, former Avenger is dead. Under a collapsed wall the body of his Sister Scarlet Witch is visible as well. Nearby there is another body to charred to identify but even bloodied and burnt the resolution of the image shows unmistakable green hair.

A figure at the far end of the 3D facility is approaching. He is drenched in shadow but a silver energy is being coming from all sides of the facility and being directed through him toward the direction of the X-Men as though the energy were directed toward an object where the X-Men would be standing if they were in the environment with him.

The figure comes close enough so that it is identifiable. It is the Magneto the Master of Magnetism. One of his arms have been severed and some force is keeping a constant stream of blood from exiting his body entirely. His face is covered in blood but the lower part of his face has been crushed.

Another static blip then the screen returns. This time a hulking figure is next to Magneto. It brings its face close to the medium it is projecting the message from in a way that the X-Men feel they are staring at the face of the Sentinel in the War Room with them.

In a mechanical voice the mutant hunting machine says "Help us!" The Sentinel stands back and turns. "Danger! Danger! Alert!" with a strikingly quick motion the Sentinel jumps in front of magneto and shield him. An explosion rocks the back of the sentinel. Magneto uses his powers to keep the Sentinel from falling on him. He turns to the X-Men one more time and the Sentinel above him says "HELP!!!!!!"

Suddenly the Sentinel begins to glow with a silver energy then rise into the air before it is ejected into the top of the complex. It explodes and in moments its debris will come raining down.

Magneto directs his power toward the top of the facility to hold the Sentinel parts suspended in the air. Suddenly the silver electric energy surrounding him begins to move from him and the suspended Sentinel toward a dark figure at the far end of the facility out of view. No energy comes from Magneto. Then using the same energy signature magneto once did the Sentinel parts still in the air becomes electrified with magnetic energy. They come crashing down from th complex with more force than gravity could ever muster, killing the mutant master of Magnetism.

In the far end of the complex a energy is rushing from the dark figure toward the direction the Sentinel faced when asking for help. The energy beam draws closer and closer until the screen goes completely blank.

The holographic image disappears.

Cyclops turns to the team.

"The message lasted long enough that Danger was able to trace it. It came from an uninhabited region of Nevada. This training will determine team leads and gauge your readiness for the field. For this training Beast in addition to your role as School Administrator you are Team Lead of X-Factor. Noctourne, you are Team Lead of X-Calibre."

Cyclops takes a deep breath.

"Hellion, you are Team Lead of X-Force."

Cyclops takes a quick glance at Wolverine. Everyone may have suspected he would name himself Team Lead of X-Force if not him then the far more experienced Wolverine. But Hellion was a favored pupil of Professor Xavier and Emma Frost. He still had his reservations on whether the arrogant young man had the foresight to be an effective team leader but this training was the perfect time to see.

"So Team Leads, what will it be? Do we stay put? Gather more information here? Or do we investigate in the field? The X-Men await your orders."

Cyclops looked at the Team Leads and wondered which if any would accept the mission.

Tapped for the Lead

The graphic images, even though Julian knew they were only holograms, still chilled him to the bone. What could have the power to kill that many mutants at once? The image most chilling to Julian was that of Magneto being protected by a Sentinel, and then killed by another with more intense powers. The shiver continued as Cyclops named off the team leaders, as he always had. Beast, no surprise because of his intelligence, Nocturne was suited well for the battle with the supernatural, and then Wolverine because Cyclops was stepping down to help…

Wait.

The shiver stopped abruptly. In his mind, he replayed the last few words out of Scott’s mouth.

“Hellion, you are Team Lead of X-Force.”

Julian glanced out of the corner of his eye at the other X-Men gathered around him. He had always been part of the team, just following orders, but now he was in charge and could head in and kick some serious ass.

Wait.

Whatever was powerful enough to kill Magneto would certainly be powerful enough to kill him. Some of Cyclops’ field lectures on tactics, strategy, and team selection began to set in. If he took everyone, the mansion would be left defenseless. If he didn’t take enough force, he could be overwhelmed and end up like the other mutants, dead on the floor. And should they even go? Is the threat real, or just a hoax? Or a trap?

Julian glanced around the room, noting the many pairs of eyes trained on him, waiting for a decision. He might still be young and arrogant and rush into situations where he might be outmatched, but he didn’t want to blow this opportunity. He knew that this was probably the Professor’s idea and most of the other mutants probably would have preferred Wolverine as a team lead, but he got the nod. He turned to one of his old professors, hoping to find some sage advice before committing.

“Hank, do you think we could get a better idea of what’s going on down there from here? Maybe tap into a satellite or something to get a better idea of what we’re going to be up against?”

Well, Well, Well, Aint this funny. Wolverine thought. "I know we've disagreed in the past boy scout, but picking a kid over me? I'm wounded." he said with a sardonic smile. "Dont worry kid, I'll still go on the mission, someone will have to bail you out when it all goes to hell."

Hank sighed and listened to Cyclops give out the orders.

He was now leading X-Factor, which didn't surprise him. Nocturne was leading Calibre, which was fitting yet unusual, and helion was lead of X-force, whoch shocked him completely.

Sighing he realised he was the senior team leader.

'Hmm, we need to split outselves into 3 groups, ideally i think. One group should go into the field and investigate the area, for which i would suggest a small three man team to would check the area around and report their finding back to base. i think we need a detective to study the evidence, a magic weilder as back up, for magic may help if we come under attack, and maybe an additional backup. I would suggest myself to lead this team, and i think Nocturne would be good help along with logan or scott.

a second team would remain here, and notify all other mutants not here as well as the authorities. They would also assess what ever information the first team send back. the majority of X-factor would be good for this.

The third team, would remain at base to protect the people here, its attacked the brotherhood, so we may be next, and we have a duty to protect the students here. X-Force and X-callibre would be good for this, with a splinter group ready to leave if anywhere else requests help. i'd suggest Hellion to lead this group.'

'This is a large threat,' he sighed, 'scratch that, the first team, would be ok as a group of 2, with cyclops leading team base, with Helion leading overall, especially the splinter group.

'Thats my view on this anyway. also if it means its a trap, it leads to only 2 people being in danger with the main troops as back up.'

Assigning Teams

He shrugged off Wolverine’s comment about not being chosen for Team Lead. He was more of a loner anyways and didn’t really care to be tied down giving orders and watching the field.

Julian could deal with being part of a splinter group that had to react to threats. It wasn’t the ideal ass-kicking venue he was hoping for, but if Beast and Nocturne wanted to go explore the threat and identify how best to bring it down, he’d be more than willing to deal out the punishment once the target was identified. Plus, it would be nice to have the brute strength and field experience of Wolverine to back him up if everything did, in fact, go to hell.

“Sounds good to me Hank. You and Nocturne can go and figure out what this thing is and how best to deal with it, and the cavalry will be waiting for your signal.”

Nocturne smiled, happy letting the others decide, hell, she was still shokced that she had been chosen as a team lead.

'Ok, Sounds good, When do we go Hank? and are we taking Wolvie or one of the others with us?'

Cyclops

For all his years of stoic heroism Cyclops couldn't restrain a smile. Hellion, in a matter of moments displayed more caution than he had in his entire time at Xavier's. Instead of recklessly plunging into a conflict with guns blazing he realized that any threat capable of defeating Magneto deserved extreme caution.

Cyclops also noted Beast was more than willing to extend his experience in the matter.

Something did trouble Cyclops though. The injuries that he saw at the sentinel compound were far more severe than he had asked Danger to program. He told her to throw him "a few curveballs" so he would have a test to pass just like the rest of the X-Men but the level of destruction concerned him.

Shrugging it off Cyclops chose to follow Hellions suggestion.

"We've got a pretty strong satelite tap Hellion. But the image is only of the desert. That mountain there, has a cave that can be entered. Danger computes the probability as 99.5368 percent that is what will eventually lead into the compound but can't X-Ray beneath that."

"That troubles me. Danger has the ability to pick up on just about any electronic or mechanical instrument. For all the sentinels we saw there would have to be machines down there. Why isn't she registering anything?"

"I can remain here just like Hellion said. It's up to you all to decide if Wolverine goes or not. But I respect your decision. It could be a trap but I'm not sure we can ignore a distress signal like this. Good call X-Men."

Hank stopped suddenly, and began to watch the video several times more.

He laughed, and turned to the others...

'The sentinel was th one asking for help, it was also the one who sacrificed itself for Magneto, which means it must have sentiency.'

He looked on for other clues. each time he noticed one he he sighed and said 'intriguing'.

Cyclops

Scott Summers frowned.

"We've encountered self aware sentinels before. The Wild Sentinel that refused to fight us once Danger made it self aware. The sentinel that came to us after we fought Onslaught. Attacking it was one of the worst choices I ever made. I still remember how it said it was afraid to die after we..." Cyclops trails off.

"This has gotten more strange than I imagined. Danger has served us a tough one X-Men. I still don't understand though. Sentient or not what was Magneto doing there? Well if you've decided to find out more about this thing then you'll need to take the Blackbird and leave the mansion."

Hank stopped suddenly and looked at the screen.

'Wait a sec' he quickly rewound a small part of the tape and watched it twice. he smiled and put magneto's last few moments on the screen in slow motion.

'Look at this,' he pointed at the screen, 'Magneto suddenly looses his powers, here, then his exact powers are used to kill him.'

he sighed, 'I could say that i think we're dealing with either Xorn or Onslaught here asd they both use the the same energy as Magneto, in reality im am going to have to say this, it is my thoughts that we are up against Apocalypse, as Magneto's powers were first absorbed before being projected, back twice at the same enrgy wave.'

He sighed, 'Like i say, who else could do this? It has to be Apocalypse.'
