Wife goes out with friends, they get drunk and decide to visit a fortune teller, the fortune teller tells a bunch of things that they can confirm are already true about her friends, but when she gets to the wife, the fortune teller accidentally taps psychically into a woman still waiting in line who is about to crash out and go full nympho so she ends up telling the wife one night she heads into the inner city and sleep her way through all these men.

She is shocked, laughs it off but after returning home to her husband and kids starts to rationalize things, starts to see herself as this woman the fortune teller described, and finally works up the courage to make her fate a reality.

Seems overly complicated. Perhaps the patron and the psychic have a childhood history and the psychic recognizes her. Still holding a grudge, she gives her a BS fortune, that she will become a complete slut for an evening of pure debauchery. She remembers just how straightlaced and religious the woman was, she knows this will not be received well.
The idea stews within her for weeks, and her fantasies get wilder and wilder and she becomes a vigorous masturbator for the first time in her life. Then her sister's bachelorette party shows up on the calendar, and she is terrified this is the night the psychic warned her about. But it's her sister. She can't not go, right?

Basically, it is a self-fulfilling prophecy. And your concept is that the idea of becoming a nympho is not in her, but placed in her mind accidentally.

If you go this way, I would, in the setup, give the fortune teller some kind of ability/power/reputation so that her fortunes become true, even if they are unexpected. (She predicted a new job, and the next day I was fired and found a new one, whatever) So the woman who hears the nympho prediction accepts it as "Oh my, this will become true" and suddenly opportunities arise, and she allows them because of the prediction.

The other, simpler approach is that the fortune teller has the reputation of looking deep into a person and will unearth their hidden desires. So she has this nympho desire, but suppressed it to the point that she is barely aware of it. Now the fortune teller reveals it in front of the group, and immediately the men queue up for dates.
