This is a unique fantasy world, not based upon any published works. The World is one created by a Great Divine Mother Goddess. She formed the mountains, the oceans, the trees, the animals, the people and the oceans in her womb and gave birth to them. She has sustained and nurtured Her World with love. Even as we call our world Earth, or Terra or simple, The World, this world is simple know as The World.

A threat has been abroad in The World for centuries though. An ancient evil has rebelled against The Mother and seeks still to usurp Her position. Your character in this game will take the parts of those who want to fight this evil and of those who are just out to make a buck.
This is a complex world with well developed cultures. Please take a look at the maps and then take a look at the cultural files. There are also some essays on religious issues related to The World. If you wish to join, please take a look at our joining and rules section.
I tried to run this game about four years ago. At the time, I started it twice. One time if failed when my computer crashed and I was not able to get another one for three weeks. In the time I was gone, people abandoned the game, and I felt so bad that I did not say anything. The second time we barely got started, but I realized that I was not ready to run a complex game with multiple people. My track record was not great, because of this, but that is why I have not, until now, thought about running a game again. Since then, I instead just played in games, paid attention to how they were run, and took notes. It has been four years or so. I did not want to think about running another game until I was ready for it.
I have decided to try running a game again, but I now realize that I can not handle a game with multiple players interacting. The main problem is posting frequency. It is difficult to handle when some post too often and some post not often enough. Since I still do not think I can handle that, and do not want to fail again, I have decided to run individual games, or threads, with individual stories, but all in the world I created. Each thread will be its own two writer story. I wanted to be honest about my failure in the past. If anyone is reading this from four years ago, I do apologize. It was only when the single person stories idea came to me (mostly from poking around here) that I though it was time to try again.

If you would like to write with me, then first chose a culture. Read that cultural file and the cultural files of any nation which impacts yours in some way. I would recommend reading ALL of the files though. I will need to approve you, before you join. To be approved you need to provide a character sheet and writing samples. The samples just mean you need to point me to two other good threads you have written in, or send me to examples as a personal message.
Please be aware that I will be writing at a moderate pace. This means you may only get a new post from me a twice a week, if I am busy. I will tell you if there will be a big delay. Please do the same for me. If you wish, you can read other players threads, and comment on the in the OCC (be nice). Their thread may give you a fuller understanding of the world.
I will probably not try to write more than four threads at one time. If I have too many threads going, and you wish to join, I would be willing to allow someone else to run one for you, using my world IF they were to stick carefully to the files as I have written them. I would even ask for volunteers from the existing group.

Here is a list of the cultures and what Earth culture they KIND OF resemble. Do not make the mistake of thinking they are this culture! This is just to tell you where to look to find a culture you might like reading and creating a character for. I will just use a list of key words. You need familiarity with one of these cultures. If you do not read them all, then please make your character such that she would not be familiar with any world but her own. A good example of this is a peasant who has never traveled more than a day.
