Yeah,I know the title is a little unleading, but well I have been thinking about doing a thread like this for a long time, even though there is probably a hundred threads that have a the same kinda idea but what the hell.

The World Below:

Take a step into a world of darkness. The current time, humanity lives with its detatchment as ever, living their day to day lives in massive cities such as Chicago or New York. Not caring about the world around them unless it gets put on the Televison.Blind and Ignorant to what shadows infest their nights or consumes the world beneth them,in the sewers or in the dark places of the earth.Vampires,Werewolves, the supernatural all exist in harmony with humans.Something has happened though, the shatter the harmony.Vampires,Werewolves and creatures of the night have suddenly turned on each other,a war is raging on the world below.Only a select few humans know or even can see monsters, humans known as:The gifted. The stage has been set and the world as we know it has no idea that forces grander than them are waring.

As anyone can tell,by putting war into the description this is going to have a little bit of action and drama and other fine elements that make up a story(aka Sex). You can play anything from a human to a vampire, just try to keep your characters somewhat realistic,I understand some creatures have superhuman strength but even that has its limits.

For a mote, vampires in this are effected by UV(sunlight) Garlic,Silver and Acid. But holy water and crosses dont do shit.

This is open to most people, looking for talented writers though.

I am in...just give me a day or so to think of who or what...thinking vamp...and ideas you have I would love to hear

I'm in as a Werewolf if that's cool. I'm assuming the whole silver bullet thing applies of course and that while most wounds will heal rather quickly and well thanks to being a werewolf some are permanant ( loss of limbs, burn scars etc. ).

Sure you can be a werewolf, but they dont live in the best of conditions, while vampires are rich and sophisticated,Werewolves are not.

Why can't a werewolf be rich? I wouldn't want to go for the sophisticated part personally...too stuffy for my idea of this character. I'd actually been thinking she'd be rich from before she was bitten. I like my characters comfy, squalor never did much for my writing lol.

Well did you ever see underworld? Werewolves were hella poor. Also in all litature, were wolves are poor. You could be rich before but your still living bad, every lycanthrope ever have been bad, becuase they are ran outta time.Unlike vamps becuase they look human.

For another note.To become Gifted, you must have been affected by monsters or given the sight from "The Watchers" which are you could say are angels. If anyone makes a gifted, they have to in their history explain how they got the sight or if in their first post they get it.

really interesting! justa quick question - anyone can become one of the 'gifted'?

Well yeah.I mean I have heard of cases of people who got their power of sight from standing at the end of a street, waiting for a light and looking once at an add for coke and it saying look behind you and then looking at it again and it being a regular ad again, then when they look behind them, they see a vampire feeding. Its just you have to have been affected by some way and once your gifted you can see any monster. That means you can tell that their not human, like you can suddenly notice vampires or see were wolves.

I mean Vampires hang at like raves and wander the night and their slayings are called gang fights, while werewolves just stalk around and their killings are called animal attacks but now instead of co existing, the creatures of the night are fighting each other, the fragile peace is broken.

I am playing a gifted who uses his gifts of sight to protect the human race.

O.k. so after a little tweaking in pm with Scarlett he's agreed that I can have my money as long as it is also used to help other's of my kind and that we can have more lycanthropic species than just wolves. Thank you Scarlett!

So what I am seeing is a small pack of WereJaguars, sleek, fast, proud, hunters. Mostly solitary but also very protective of each other. It's o.k. to fight a bit amongst ourselves but if you fuck with one you just brought the whole pack down on your ass. My charcter was brought into the pack for two reasons...fresh blood for the bloodlines and the fact that she's loaded and the packs finances are dwindling but being catlike in nature they like to be pampered and cared for.

Sound alright?

oh Wicked

I am so in with a wracker

Calista Dracul, age 21.
She survived a explosion in a rinky dink town at the power plant. Since then the girl's dark blue eyes faded to a light silveryblue Her body has a mild glow in the dark aura which aides to her seeing unusual things that go bump in the night. She wears dark colors to hide the glow and slowly started to learn how to handle a blade.

She had been teased for her last name and more so that she was a huge Van Helsing fan when the movie hit the stores.

Calista started sitting on the porch and watching strange shadows. One night she decides to explore that thought.

ok decided to go with the vampire

Name: Nikolai Romanov
Age: Unknown, but appears to be around 28yrs old
Hair: Dark brown
Eyes: Amber
Height: 5'11'

Rich Russian vampire thanks to his oil drills across the world. Rumoured to be Russian royalty, certainly apart of the upper class society, and also has connections with the Russian mafia - which are predominantly made up vampires anyway.

Looks quite innocent and will more often than not let others have the spotlight. He prefers to stay in the shadows, calculating what to do before he acts. A stealthy and very successful hunter and an amazing street-fighter.

Will do anything, and will pour great amounts of money in the war in order to rid the world of werewolves.

Hmmm....I'm interested in this one. Let me think, I'm leaning towards playing a gifted. I might try writing backwards and writing a guy this time. *ponderponder*

Uh, I could be interested in getting in on this. I have decent ideas for characters of all three persuasions so let me know which is needed most and I'll go with that one.

with the mix of characters that are popping up this is going to become a popular thread

Name: Meredith Hamilton

Age: pushing 70 but appears 21

Description: Human; Meredith is on the shorter side at only 5'3 but she manages to make herself appear taller by wearing heels most of the time. She is fit, trim and lithe with smallish, firm, breasts and gently rounded hips. Her hair falls nearly to her waist like a black silk cape so dark it seems it absorb light into itself. Her eyes are a soft golden color with flecks of emerald green drifting through them and her soft rose petal lips are almost always ready to smile.

Jaguar; When she changes her feline form is sleek and as inky black as her hair. She's rather smaller in size than most of the other Jaguars in her pack but she's sleek and quick and they've taught to use teeth and claws to the best effect. Her eyes remain the same in either form and are the quiest way to spot that she's not a true feline.

Just the general basics. I'll incorporate her history in when we get started.

What I'm thinking about is a mid 20's gifted human, and I think as an academic exercise I'm going to make this character a male. If we're operating under the assumption that a gifted character is someoen who has suffered trauma that sparked his gift open.....*think* I'm thinking a musician...some inherent psycological problems possible from abuse that were dealt with in the late teens early 20's by drug abuse. Soooo...nearly dies from a drug overdose. Gets out of the hospital, and then seriously sees the whole around him.

Hmmm...so I've got a mentally unstable, gifted human male, mid 20's. That is a brief sketch, I'll mule over a post for when we actually start the thread. I figure this can do for the OOC casting call. I'm thinking he works at a bar for employment. :) Possibly....owned by one of the supernatural characters? Any non human character want to pick that up? There could be some interesting interplay.

Hey, I don't really know all that much about the "rules" of Vampires, as I've yet to read the Time-Life series of Vampire books. Can Vampires be born vampires? What kind of nifty powers do they have?

Edit: Silver, the character I'm thinking of would own a young, hip Vampire bar if that suits your interests.

Thats fine DC,whatever suits your style. You could say you don't need our approval to play something, like some people have demonstrated.

~Is kinda weirded out silver is playing a male, makes him wonder~

Edit:As for being born a vampire, you can be one.But you have to remember, vampires cant go out in the day,the sunlight with kill them,so will UV,garlic, silver and EDT.

Umm,some vampire powers consist of above average strength, you suck blood(thats a given),your immortal, your most of the time stinking rich. Most vampires have minor telekinetic abilities.Regeneration is another thing and a couple sort of weird things(like minor mind control and seduction things...mental domination, the works?)

Umm and silver...to be gifted you have to traumaticly affected by the supernatural, not just traumatically affected. You don't even have to be traumatically affected, just affected in some way. Most gifted are given the sight from "The Watchers" which are kinda like angels and thats becuase they are about to be affected by the supernatural.Like my character was standing on a street corner, infront of an alley, minding his own buisness when he started looking over at a strange figure that was watching a woman,he looked normal at the time, then suddenly someone dropped a matches box into my characters hand that the Logo at first said "Look at him again".Then he lifted his head, then looked at the matches box and it was just regular, and when he looked back at the strange me,he realized it was a vampire and he seduced a young woman to suck her blood and my character stops the vampire.Thats how he got his gift of sight.

Edit2:You mean like hidden nightclub bar or something.Becuase people are not supposed to know about vampires and if you have like a sign :Vampires here. Its gonna be weird.I mean technically to the human race, vampires and were wolves are just story tales. But like if you have ever seen the movie Blade, all the vampires hang out at underground night clubs and rave.

On another note,if your born a vampire...your considered a "pure blood" and better than people who were "Turned"(or bitten and made a vampire).

Lol

You go Silver.. am thinking that someone is worried about their assassin in another thread

*lol*

Alright, thanks for the clarification on how they get their gift. I'll muse over that one for a bit.

As for playing a guy character, as I said, its an exercise as an author to do so. Not to mention I figure most threads are heavy on female characters, so if I don't play a chick, that leaves it open for the people who will write as nothing but a female character. My characters aren't me, neither are they an extension of self....I try to make certain they are their own unique creation. That's what makes writing interesting.

That being said, I don't care what I play...:)

Yes, well, I wasn't thinking flashing neon signs but more along the lines of a, you know, hip and happening goth club that say, Vampires would know is a Vampire-friendly establishment but would also draw in human goth kids that they eat(or is it drink?)
