Morgan Schrow was once a perfectly normal young man living in New York City during the mid-1800s. He was kind and caring and aspired to be a writer and teacher. But then the American Civil War engulfed the country, leading to the burning of his grandfather's farm down south and the slaughter of his entire family by Confederate forces for trying to smuggle slaves north. This drove Morgan to join the Union Army and fight for freedom.

By 1865, the war was over, but Morgan was a changed man. He had emerged a ruthless and calculating battle-hardened soldier, going on to join the U.S. Marshals. He developed a penchant for drunken rowdiness and eventually lost his badge, but continued on as a bounty hunter. Throughout the years known as the American Old West, Morgan built up his reputation as a drunken hothead, but also as an impeccable marksman and gunslinger, even when he had consumed too much whiskey.

In 1892, when Morgan was 53 years old, a young Native woman caught his eye. She was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen, and her smile and laugh melted his heart. Suddenly that kind boy from all those years ago started to resurface, until the girl's father -- who happened to be their tribe's chief -- forbade the girl from ever seeing Morgan again. The Native man who was meant to be her mate grew jealous with Morgan, as it was clear he was the one who held the girl's heart.

Ultimately, a scuffle ensued where the Native man tried to kill Morgan, who was saved by the Native girl. But in the process, the girl was accidentally stabbed, and she died as both men looked on in horror. Morgan then lunged furiously at the Native man and ripped his throat open. He then went on to slaughter the entire tribe, his mind clouded by rage and grief. When only the chief was left, he told Morgan that a spirit guardian called the White Wolf would not let his assault go unpunished. Morgan then ripped the chief's heart out.

As the bounty hunter stood there amidst a sea of bodies and blood, he suddenly noticed a white wolf walk into the village. The Wolf stared at Morgan with sharp silver eyes as a voice rang out in his head: "You have decimated the People of the Wolf. Not just the men, but even the women and the children. You have robbed any hope of this great bloodline from being passed on, and so you must provide penance. You will father no children, but the Wolf will continue with you. Your body will become young once again, and you will recover from any injury rapidly. You will live on until such a time as I feel your debt is repaid, but until that time comes, you will be haunted by the cries of those you have hurt. Never will they dull, never will they cease. You will suffer their pleas for mercy until you beg for death, which I will deny time and time again. You will endure this curse for centuries to come, until I claim otherwise. This is my promise."

After a flash of blinding light, Morgan awoke to find himself young again indeed, but with a few changes -- his eyes became silver, like the Wolf. His senses were stronger, his body sturdier. Any cut to his skin healed within seconds, and just as the Wolf promised, he relived his killing spree every time he closed his eyes. For years after that, he begged time and time again to be put out of his misery, unable to kill himself.

It is now modern day, and Morgan has never seen the Wolf since that night over hundred years ago. He has learned to live with the nightmares as best he could, traveling the world as a vigilante to atone for his crimes. Most recently he has returned to the United States, the last stance in a years-long battle against a multinational criminal organization known only as Black Rose. Morgan had piloted his own organization of freedom fighters and vigilantes, calling themselves White Lotus. On both sides, they had normal humans as well as those with a variety of supernatural abilities held secret from the public eye.

I envision this as a one-on-one, but can also work for a group. The primary idea is there is a young woman who takes a liking to Morgan, and despite his warnings, she follows him around and ends up getting fatally wounded in a shootout with the Black Rose. She dies in his arms, but instead of raging, he just weeps, his tears spilling onto her face. Tears from his enchanted silver eyes. Suddenly the girl jumps back to life, having completely healed, but not unchanged. She develops her own supernatural enhancements from the encounter (your choice).
