Welcome to the wishing well. Here, you can list all of the things you want to do in life that you actually believe you can accomplish. For example, while many of us would love to win millions of dollars in the lottery, it is very unlikely that we will. Instead, list the things that CAN happen. Other readers may be able to help your wish come true! Here is my list to get things started:

Ride a motorcycle
Spend a romantic weekend at the beach
Ride a jet-ski
Vacation in Disney World (again!)
Go to Disneyland in California
Learn to rollerblade
Go to a Patriots football game
Spend a weekend in New York City

Liked your list....a romantic - and phoneless - beach weekend has been on my do-list so long it deserves fantasy status....NYC wouldn't be so bad either - have never done that....these are doable, and that I haven't is a damned shame!!!!

My wishes all start and finish with getting laid. Just kidding...the key thing is making sure that it's something that COULD happen.

* Get a motorcycle
* Take my family to Hawaii
* Take a Carribean cruise with my wife
* Visit Poland someday
* Visit Japan again someday

That's just a couple of them that we have on the "long term goal list", but right now remain in the wishes category.

Take my daughter to Ireland
Go to Seattle and not come home
Find a job that requires brains, nerves and talent that I have
Resolve things with my parents

Resolution with my parents was easy - I told them I was wrong, and they agreed. I never said I thought they were right, tho'!!!

No kidding!!! It worked for me!!! I can spend all sorts of time with my mother now, and it isn't like pulling teeth. Of course, I have quit trying to change her, too. The only person in the equation I could change was moi!!!

Well I've done that...it'd be nice now if they'd stop trying to keep changing me.

They do, once we get them raised....it takes a while, but can be worth the effort. And, when we accept them, they begin to accept us - as we are, too!!!

wish

~love*
~wife
~house
~kids
~dog
~tampa bay buccaneers tickets
~go back to Grand Cayman Islands

and more but those are most important

Ahh, my dad's one of those troublesome parents to raise properly...pretty set in his ways I think.

So's my mother....sounds like we share the opposite parent war-zone syndrome....my mother was a total terror during my teens....we finally got over it....one thing I had to realize was that she isn't the same person anymore, and I did have to set some boundaries, which was easier after I quit hitting her up for money....my dad loves me - he's just nuts....not bad or dangerous - nuts....

Actually my mom got better the older she was...we get along much better now. Especially since she stopped those damn Tough Love groups she fell in love with when I was a teen. The peer pressure in those things are terrible...the stuff those other parents filled he rmind with! Jeez!

My mother's touch love was her fist balled up at the end of her arm, reaching for my mouth, usually. She tried that with my brother once, and he offered to break her arm . . . that was the end of it. I had dad in the corner....I had the key to keeping him out of things, and it was one of the cruelest pieces of manipulation I have ever pulled on another human being....it'll take me a while to forgive me for that one....

Wish list....

*go on a cruise
*get a new job that I love and pays well,
w/ benefits
*spend a weekend in NYC and not have to
worry about going back to CT right away
*travel to Italy, esp. the southern region
*get married and have kids (one of these days!)

(just a sampler of course)

now, for my "reach" wish list:

*meet Anthony Hopkins in person
*own a penthouse in NYC
*travel around the world

Tony Hopkins was in town not long ago, and I had an invite, and passed it up on purpose....one person's treasure is another's oh-so-what!!!!!!

Ahh yes...my mother had the fastest backhand in the west. She actually mastered the art of smacking 2 kids withut removing her hand from the steering wheel! Plus they had this leather strap.....3 inches wide, about 8 long and half an inch thinck...duct taped around the handle for a better grip.

My real dad though was the violent one.

You and I seem to share some of the same kind of crap....it took me awhile, and some self-destructive behavior, to overcome it....it's a long story...I'll tell it to you sometime....while not hijacking somebody'e thread....

On the subject, I wish others could have my problem, so they could have my solution!!!

Check my sidebar, and then consult your knowledge of history and current events....it was a semi-public function, and I don't like crowds that size....
