Hi. I role play almost every day, but I've noticed that the SRP Forum empties out on weekends. I am wondering why. To where does every one disappear?

And yes, there are some replies being posted even as we speak, but anyone who spends time in the SRP Forum knows that the number of posts significantly drops when Friday arrives and doesn't increase again until Monday.

Why? Tell us something about your SRP habits.

Who are you: Male or female? Young or old? Homo, hetero, bi, other? Student, worker, island hermit?

When do you role play: all hours, evenings only, weekdays only, etc.?

Where do you role play: home, work, school, on the toilet, in yo mama?

Why do you role play: love writing, love erotica, love being creative in general, love getting hard/wet by participating?

If you don't want to answer an above question, it would be better if you didn't answer, rather than make something up.

Are you talking about the lounge or SRPs?
Because the SRP forum has already had a couple dozen updates today, and it is only noon (EST)

And yet that's nothing compared to week days. Where is everyone? And I'm not just talking about this weekend, which -- of course -- is only in it's first day. This is common for Lit. Starting with Friday night, the number of posts to the SRP plummet, and activity doesn't pick up again until Monday morning.

Why? Are people suddenly not at their computers? Do they only post at their work computers? Are they home with their family surrounding them, making it impossible to write erotica? Once again, that invites the question of when and where they write on the week days.

I'm just curious. I'm not looking for an argument about whether the number of posts drops, because I already know it does. I'm looking for an explanation for why it drops.

I have noticed this too. There are a few srp's I read and won't be able to read them until Monday night when I get home from work.

Makes me wonder if they are housewife's/husbands who can post more during the day when they are home with the kids. Or while at work and weekends are for family time.

Personally...

Who are you: I am male, as the name would imply; I am older than 30 but less than 60 with a desire not to be any more specific than that; I'm historically straight (except for one M-F-M threesome) but with a bi-curious fantasy that I hope to one day fulfill; and I'm single with children, both grown and gone and still in the house.

When do you role play: all times, all days.

Where do you role play: home on a desktop, at work (on breaks) on a phone.

Why do you role play: I love writing, and I love erotica; and yes, I sometimes use it to get myself hard. I have really good, whale spouting orgasms after a couple of hours of dirty writing.

Maybe people are going out and doing stuff on the weekends?

Probably so, which is the reason I was hoping to see some "biographical information" as asked about in the opening. I'm curious about the locations and times from which people role play: are they role playing at college between classes or from their computers at work ... when they should be working, and the like. But I guess no one's interested in the question, so I give up.

Well, they're pretty personal questions. They're not really things you answer when you don't even know who's asking them, you know? It's not about being interested in the questions, people just generally won't divulge that kind of information to strangers on the internet. But good luck with your search!

I didn't ask anything more personal that what most people tell in their Profiles or divulge in the Playground threads. Doesn't matter. I just thought people would be interested in telling about their role playing habits and/or learning about others' habits.

I'm just trying to learn why SRP writers disappear on Friday, not to return until Monday.

Having your post followed by a gif of a dude strangling a girl: Bit on the nose, don't you think? LOL!

If people only wrote what they know, they'd only write about database programming, finance, and hospitality work.
"Write what you know"...pfft.

You can certainly know something without needing to have personal life experience with it. A writer like Bernard Cornwell who writes historical fiction doesn't NEED to have served in a regiment of musket infantry in order to write about it.

I mean, if you're limited to what your first-hand experience is with, then why would any ever include vampires of zombies in their stories? Or have futuristic settings, or even historical settings. There's certainly room for the fantastical, for the fantasy to creep in. You do want to keep details in the realm of what's possible as much as you can in order to avoid straining the suspension of disbelief, but you're allowed to have elements of fantasy that service the plot.

*giggles and grins at the videos* So kind....

Tsk, tsk, Miss Vail... Shouldn't there be a safe word? :p

But no more from me... Although Noon and I were talking about The King and I yesterday... Is that permissible? ;)

What? I could have said "Ohhhh, John-boy." instead...

I thought i was being rather good.

*claps a hand over her mouth to keep the giggles at bay, her eyes dancing before containing herself*

Oh yes... Your first choice was much better.
