The wheel on my car almost fell off

I was going down the interstate and the car started shaking. So I pulled over and looked at all the wheels and the front left had loose nuts. It took me about half and hour to figure out how to get the jack thingy out and tighten up the nuts. Just as I finished, some guy pulled up to help. I gave him a thumbs up and got in the car and went home. I guess it could have killed me. I guess he could have been a rapist killer.

Sorry. I didn't die today.

So glad you pulled over in time! My dad taught me basic car repair stuff and I always changed my own tires. One time though I had gotten a flat and a whole group of guys offered to help me. So I let them do it. After they left I pulled onto the road only to hear a weird noise and my car was driving like there was still a flat. They forgot to tighten the lugs! Now I do everything myself and kindly thank offers to help.

Not to be paranoid or anything, but those "gremlins" might have names. I've never heard of lug nuts coming loose on their own. Who is the last person to have touched that tire? If it has been years or you don't know, then that is NOT a good answer.
