And tonight I got the feeling that Martin Sheen will be leaving the cast this season. Seems they're preening the V. President (don't know the actor's name) to take over.

If they continue giving him more visibility in the show, I think the show might survive Sheen's absence. I hope so anyway... I think this is one of the best television shows on right now.

Tim Matheson plays VP Hoines. An interesting bit of trivia: He was the voice of Johnny Quest.
I hope Martin Sheen isn't leaving the show, he's the heart and soul of it.

At first I got the same impression, that Martin Sheen would be leaving the cast....but, maybe they are highlighting the V.P. only to use as a catalyst to get "Bartlett" another term?

I mean if the V.P. plays an active role in the "Team" as a whole....it would serve as a vehicle to help obtain a re-election.

:D

Christ...now I'm talking "West Wing" on Lit. Someone help me. LOL

More importantly he was Otter in Animal House.

I don't know.. y'know last season Sheen was contemplating not coming back for another season. I distinctly got the impression that the VP is now in the spotlight because the viewers need to feel the same "fuzzies" they feel with Sheen playing the Presidential role.

I could be wrong, in fact I am often wrong, but I still feel this may be the case in this instance.

I sure do hope you're wrong once again. lol....

I think it's one of the best shows on TV right now..(if not *the best)....and without Sheen, I don't know if I'd be as overly enthusiastic about it anymore.

Time will tell.

Tim was in "Quest" the TV western program back in the 70's with Kurt Russell... I used to have a poster of them on my bedroom wall.... :p

Money

Sheen wants more money since he knows he is important to the show and the writers as well as Sorkin who created the show is trying to set up future shows in case they don't come to terms. I was pleased to see Matheson's role built up since he is a great actor.

I laughed last night when Matheson said that in college he liked beer, a lot, and I thought, "Right, well, DeltaHouse."

Right after that Martin Sheen put him on double secret probation.

One of our favourites!

Interesting turn of events, last evening... I hope Jed doesn't get "killed off" w/ MS - the character is too rich and an integral part of the ensemble.

I wish more Americans would watch this programme. The lessons in politics as being "the art of the possible" are often quite insightful... and the inertia/knee-jerk schizophrenia IRL is even more exposed

I'm not surprised that a lot of Lit.erati are regulars, however. Except maybe DCL. :D
