The twist is that he is male. Everybody assumes he is gay, which gives him unfettered access to the bridal party. Of course, he is anything but gay...

The idea the way it's written makes me think that he's being manipulative.
But it's still a interesting situation where he would be in female rich environment, dealing closely with moms, aunts, grannies, bridesmaids and brides. All sorts of naughtiness could go on.

Gigolo.

Predator.

Manipulative.

Just some of the words that come to mind.

I didn't get "manipulative" in my initial reading of it, though I do see why there's that response.

If people assume his sexuality based on his profession and never actually ask him about it (for example), how is that being manipulative? It could also be something the bridal party just says to get the men in their lives to be less jealous, though secretly they enjoy all the attention and flirting... and more.

If someone asks, he could just say, "No, I'm not really gay or straight. I try to avoid sex, because I've never been able to have an ejaculation."

Women love a challenge.

I don't know why, but I thought about the typical harem trope of extremely shy dude surrounded by ladies who all want him, including the bride.

Give him an unisex name for an extra layer of surprise.

Maybe to not make him feel manipulative, make him oblivious? Wedding planning is just his job, he isn't aware that people mistake him for a gay because of it. And he doesn't even notice that a bride of honor asked him "how does a pussy feel like?" instead of "how does my pussy fells like" during intercourse.

The “everyone assumes he’s gay” trope might be best applied to the situation where the women in the bridal party cheat with him and the husbands/boyfriends don’t suspect because… well, gay.

“Unfettered access to the bridal party” sounds creepy, like he’s going to go to inappropriate places at inappropriate times and behave inappropriately and they can’t easily stop him.

But creepy is some readers’ jam, so suit yourself

Cheating is also not every reader’s jam either, so 🤷🏻‍♂️

So let’s take the bones of the idea but give it a bit of a twist.

Wedding planner is seen as nonthreatening by everyone and does sincerely want to make sure the bride has a perfect day…they just have a more hands on approach to things.

For example: Bride has dreamed about having a reception at a specific landmark. Place however is very exclusive and the owner, an older woman, slaps a steep fee when she does agree to allow functions there.

Wedding planner however gets it for virtually nothing, saying the owner was taken by such a beautiful young couple…when in truth wedding planner seduced her and arranges for her to be tied up and naked in a room that is only separated From the party by a one way mirror, with caterers and staff allowed to use her on their breaks (which gives a discount on their services)

troublesome relatives (the ones who can’t hold their drink or can’t keep from saying something racist or would want to show up the bride get seduced before the service and hooked up with toys so they exit the reception before they screw anything up.

Not saying Wedding planner doesn’t have some fun just for himself but he keeps it to people that would keep quiet about the deed till after the bride and her groom have enjoyed their honeymoon.

For example, bride’s sister is feeling down feeling that she’ll never find anyone and wedding planner seduces her over the course of the planning period and keeps an affair with her going through the reception but makes it clear things will end after the reception but gives her some words of encouragement and by some strange happenstance she catches the bouquet and the guy who catches the garter (who maybe she and planner had a threeway with and her really hit it off and wind up getting married soon after.

I think it would be fun if he’s not malevolent but more puckish and potentially magical. And again, instead of “oh he’s gay” he just comes off as very unassuming and non threatening
