Well, it's been awhile since I posted. But I wanted to share something with everyone who has helped me support the medics in Iraq and who know me.
The War in Iraq has hit home this morning. My nephew has orders to the war zone. I got the email this morning when I got home from work.
I remember holding him in my arms 17 years ago when my sister brought him home from the hospital. That seems like just yesterday. As they do in cajunland, there was a big party. Everyone was outside partying eating crab and shrimp. I sat inside holding Jadon and telling my sister how proud I was. To this day she still kids me about being the sentimental uncle.
On July 8th that baby turns 18. In less than a month from that, he will be in a war zone. He has proposed to his high school sweetheart. Who I expect he will marry when he comes home in July now that he's got orders to Iraq.
Once his unit gets to Iraq, I'll be posting the mailing address for anyone who wishes to write or send things to help out. The same as we did with the medics when they were stationed there.
I won't discuss political beliefs and ask that no one post them here. Just support the troops. Each of us has someone who could be there tomorrow. Many of us held that baby in our arms who is about to go and fight. And each of us wishes we could take their place.
Hugggggggggggggggsssssssssss,
