I contacted a VE awhile back via the new CP ( I have been using the new CP for quite awhile and like it). As I understand it, I was to get a confirmation email that I had made the request to the VE. That confirmation email never came to me, nor did the VE respond with either a yes or not interested.( PS: Lit has my current email and I get PM notices all the time just fine.)
Post a request on the Editor's Forum. Tell them the category of the story, the word count, if you have a deadline, and what kind of editing you need - grammar, typos, continuity, etc. I've usually had pretty good luck finding an editor that way. Others have not, but it's at least worth a shot.
I get the same problem, only it's a Mailer-Daemon bounce back on Yahoo. I don't know if any requests reached the editors.
I did get a response from a VE by using the ‘Contact Editor’ function on the new interface, so it does work. And this is a VE whose profile was last updated almost a year ago. She isn’t accepting PMs, so I wasn’t able to use that as a parallel request.
I typically use the ‘Contact’ tab on the member profile instead of the VE contact function, but I thought I’d give the new interface a try. So far, no confirming email from Lit other than the msg that pops up on the screen once my email was successfully sent.
I wonder if that wasn't google from the person you contacted rejecting your message?
Well, finally some encouraging news! I hope the glitches get smoothed out, it looks like it would be a very nice addition—once it works more reliably.
