Has anyone seen this show in New York? If so, was it worth the money? Do you have any desire to even see this show? If you have never heard of the show it is merely three women discussing their vaginas and life.

I think I could probably get a more interesting monologue on vaginas here at Lit. So, to research this point I am asking you ladies to star in a way-off Braodway version of the show called "LIT'S VAGINA SPEAKS". So, ramble on ladies, if you please, on how your vagina affects your everday life.

Guys, if you would like to contribute on how vaginas affect your everyday life, please feel free to add your opinions.

I am forever indebted to a vagina, afterall, a vagina birthed me.

And more up to date -

I fall asleep each night with my manhood buried deep in Ms. South or with my fingers caressing the delicate folds that I've become so intimate with.

I wake each morning with my manhood buried deep in Ms. South or my with my fingers caressing the delicste folds that I've become so intimate with.

This vagina in particular has changed the way I look at all vaginas, no longer are they forbidding territory, no longer do they demand more than I have the ability to supply. Now, I relish the idea of having the opportunity to tease and please her, to get her excited, wet and steamy.

Yes, Vagina, you're my friend, my pal, my playmate, my assoiciate in pleasure ...

Yes, yes, yes.....

It's a very famous show, sells out all the time, hard to get tickets to - Rudy G's wife was even doing a part of it for a while.

To tell you the truth I'm just not that interested - I'm a guy - I don't care what pussies might have to say.

This is a broken up monologue - delivered via guest (famous celebs) - written by a woman. And I beleive a dike but I may be wrong.

Certainly the audience is favored by lesbian women. I've heard that it's very boring - but again don't know, haven't been.

It's just some dike JAP winning about being a woman - again.

I mean - How many fucking Lily Tomlin's do we need in this world?

I am not a guy but my everyday life is VERY affected. ;)

WOW. I am so disgusted. Not suprised at all, just disgusted.

"If you have never heard of the show it is merely three women discussing their vaginas and life."

WRONG AGAIN, KIDS. but thanks for playing.

a work of art protesting rape and domestic violence is boring, eh? If only we could all turn a blind eye to things that don't affect us personally. I guess there is a reason they say ignorance is bliss....

"written by a woman. And I beleive a dike but I may be wrong"
"It's just some dike JAP winning about being a woman - again"
could you please state a little more clearly what you mean by that? Just kidding. I'd rather not hear anything from you anymore, SK. The misogyny and homophobia are way too clear. FYI those "dyke Japs" you mention "whining" are (in one skit) actually COUNTLESS BOSNIAN women who are protesting THEIR BRUTAL RAPES as a WAR TACTIC. Of course maybe if you had SEEN the play you would have KNOWN THAT. (the rapes of the bosnian women are one of the focuses of the monologues around here at least - I read the review today and it is supposed to be incredible).

Tony, give it a chance. You might like it. Your statements about it being "merely three women discussing their vaginas and life" is an incredibly uneducated one. It doesn't sound like you know why it was written, and what the play is trying to do.

personally, I've been TRYING to find someplace that is putting on the Vagina Monologues around here so I can go see it. I have heard it is truly amazing.

I think by JAP he meant Jewish American Princess, which is still tremendously insulting and patronizing. Of course, that is what he wanted -- to get everyone's drawers in a twist.

In Southern California it is playing at the Canon Theater in Beverly Hills, with a different cast every few days (rather like Love Letters).

One thing about Sparky. If he doesn't know anything about a subject, he will still have something to say, usually offensive. At least he's consistent.

Well, I was trying to get an idea of what this play is about as I am thinking of going to NY soon. I am still left with the impression that it is three women discussing life. When they change the cast does the topic change or is it the same topic but from a different point of view? What exactly is the topic?

Feisty1 Thank you so much for responding to this ....I have never seen The show but knew basically what it was about, I wanted to look into it some more before I replied blindly.....

Why is it that men would assume anything focused on a vagina must entail a bunch of women sitting around whining....kinda proves the point of the play no?

tony_gam, essentially the topic is the vagina -- its place in a woman's life, how it is used and abused, its symbolism. Parts of it are funny, some are tragic. The play is updated periodically, but the topics are essentially the same.

If you really don't want to hear about women, by all means go see The Scarlet Pimpernel or something else.

Thank you for the info. I have no problem hearing about woman or women talking about their life. I just had no idea what it was about. I visited the web site and saw that they are scheduled only for the next two months. I wonder if it will be closing after that or the schedule just needs updating? Thanks again.

The interesting thing is that all the men I've been with, particularly the StudMuffin, don't like movies where the main female character takes the lead. My husband hated the First Wives Club, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Erin Brokovich. The studmuffin would rather watch Commando. I wonder if he feels threatened by it. I'm willing to bet he won't like this show.

Hey I don't mind women taking the lead....

Not in the least.

And I never said I absolutely knew what this thing was about.

And I am not (once I'm told) against people sharing about the atrosities of rape and the like.

But I know this - that the few females I know that went to this - told me it was fucking boring.

There's one thing about getting behind a good, valuable cause - there's another thing about jumping on that bandwagon and aiding to promote it - but there's yet another thing about the thing actually being a good, interesting, work of art.

I have heard - on good female authority - that this is not.

PS....

And of course the JAP dike thing was to get you all riled...

Big deal. Know Sparky. He had a sly grin on his face when he said it.

As he does when he makes all his off color jokes.

Sparky - yet another equal opportunity offender.

Read my threads - I spare no one.

Least of all my white ass male self.
