The American presidential election is a dog and pony show.

I am not voting and I don't give a flying fuck who wins.

Our government (as well as all of the others in the world) is run wholly and entirely by giant multinational corporations in the petroleum, defense, and pharmaceutical industry, whose sole objective it is to maximize profits and shareholder wealth by whatever means necessary.

The president is a figurehead and does not have any political power, democracy is ceremonial.

I hold similar views.
But not only about the US; it's also this strange global village that we're now living in.

One of the equivalents of that, in Europe, is the International Monetary Fund.
The way they managed to bankrupt even further certain countries, by loaning them money when they were at an impasse. Under certain conditions of course, which were "negociated" with the corrupt politicians: aka get rid of the infrastructure that competed with the business interests of certain corporations.

It's no different than professional wrestling, everything is scripted and choreographed, it's purely entertainment.

This is largely true. However, on the outside chance Trump could be for real and actually bring even a small glimmer of positive change, I would say its worth taking the chance.

ANY of the others (except for maybe Rand Paul) are useless stooges for Bilderberg and the world elite. If not for Trump I would be completely in agreement with you.

The op is pretty much right though.

What I always find laughable are these people who watch cable news and follow "politics" like other people follow sports or Hollywood celebrities but actually think there opinion matters or that frankly anyone they vote for will make a difference.

Its all a sham, maybe not as bad as in North Korea, but really not that much different. That's why the more the establishment screams about Trump, the more I think he's for real. Of course, at the conspiracy site I go to, they say its a double bluff and Trump is actually in on it.
