The UK's turning racist...

David Blunkett, our Home Secretary (looks after Britain's internal affairs) has just created a minor shock wave. He announced today that:

a) Immigrants will have to learn English before they can become citizens.

b) Forced marriages and female circumcision will no longer be tolerated in the name of cultural differences.

c) Single religious schools should be encouraged.

This is on top of earlier announcements that asylum seekers are to be housed in camps until their applications have been processed.

Is it a racist situation or plain commonsense. Most of the UK's population have always thought it strange that newcomers to these islands didn't have to learn the language if they didn't want to, and most of us have felt uneasy about forced marriages etc.

And we've grown more disturbed as we watched immigrants pour into our country and immediately receive all the benefits the Welfare State say they are entitled to (including housing).

The surprising thing is that these measures are being sought by a left wing Labour Government on the grounds that we can no longer afford to be "politically correct", Blunket's words not mine, where immigration is concerned.

We'll now have to sit back and see what riots come from the Asians (who make up the majority of the non-English speaking, non-integrated section of the population).

:(

up...

for the Brit shift which should be starting soon...

:)

There is a 'Brit Shift'?

:p

Actually... America is leaning towards the same thing, they're talking about cutting down our new citizenships per year from 300,000 to 100,000...

Two things bother me about this.. The whole country is founded on immigration, everyone here except the Native Americans is descended from immigrants.. We honestly have no right to limit how many people want to come in..

However, on the other hand, to balance out the Welfare State thing, I'm of the opinion that you shouldn't be able to apply for Welfare in a country until you've been a citizen at least 5-10 years..

My other problem is... What happened to "Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses, yearning to be free"?

We massed out! I thought they were just sending the brits home, that would make the price of tea drop drastically!

Yeah I do, there's a short story behind that

Moridin is a character from my fav series of books, The Wheel of Time. He's the leader of the Forces of Evil, and the name itself means death. When I was getting my first email addy, when I first got online years ago, I wanted Moridin, but it was taken. So I said to myself "Hmm, self, what number goes with Moridin?" What better than the code for homicide?

Do often call yourself 'self'?

:p

Do not fret Death death,........

:p

I'm not in limey-land.. I'm in Vermont, joy ::makes a sarcastic jerking off motion to show his great love for this state::

Oh, and in reply to your question "Do you often call yourself self?"....

When I actually talk to myself, I speak in the second person.

as in "Alright.. we know this is gonna suck.. but we have to do it anyway..."

It's an old habit from back when I used to hear voices....

Limey-land.....hahaha I must add that to my repetroir

:p

Vermont isn't a "nice place"...
it's a nice LOOKING place...

It is one of the most rural, provincial, bigoted, inbred, boring, cold goddamn places on earth...

Death speaks to itself in the third person

:p

Of course they're missing. Back when I used to play hide and seek I was unfindable, and my mom never found the porn mags or weed in my room.... I'm VERY good at hiding stuff ^_^

*goes down into his secret bunker and starts typing from there*

Hahah! They'll never take me alive!!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
