We've been on the wrong side of things in Latin America and the Caribbean at least since 1900! Probably since the Monroe Doctrine, in fact.

I’m not interested in debating the judgment of James Monroe or the 42 presidents that have come after him, but I will note that with regard supporting Chavez, two Democratic presidents and two Republican presidents (and all the Secretaries of State that served under those presidents) didn’t agree with your statement.

I'm indicting the U.S. as such, here, not just either party. There's a good reason why everybody south of the Rio Grande seems to hate the Yanquis. (The ones who don't . . . well, they don't stay south of the Rio Grande if they can help it, do they?)
