Am I the only person here who likes golf?

I'm for Bubba. He is a UGA product.

Bubba Watson? I rooted for him when he was here for the Wachovia Championship!

Couldn't believe the way Bubba blew up on the 9th. :: shakes head ::

At least he settled down after that, didn't let it totally destroy him.

I know merely from observation that sadists design the clothes golfers prefer to wear .

Not easy on the eye. Does that count ?

I went out to get dinner when he did that. Got back and said "what the fuck?"

We'll see if Badds can handle the pressure of playing with Tiger in the last pairing. I'll be pulling for Bubba. I think he'll win his share in the coming years.

I kind of like watching golf. It requires such a low level of commitment.
But I only watch the last round.

I haven't had time to watch golf for months though.

I play AT golf.

I consider it a good round if I end the round with as many balls as I started with. They don't have to be the same balls, just the same number of 'em.

One day I will learn to swing the driver so the ball gets more than 6 inches off the turf...

I played in high school. It was fun getting out of school early. And the "coach", all he really did was drive the van, let us smoke once we got off the school property. I don't play much anymore. Mainly because the course here is 9 holes and I hate it.

[rant]Notice to NBC golf announcers: Cabrera didn't dissect the damn fairway - he bisected it! If you don't know what a word means, don't freakin' use it!

[/rant]

Not having heard the comment in context, I can't say for sure they misused the term...

Saying someone "dissected the course" could be quite intentional in that they were meaning he took the course apart and defeated it in detail.

Just a thought.

Nahhh... Cabrera blasted his tee shot down the center of the fairway on the 18th, and they said he "dissected" the fairway. Announcer just isn't as articulate as he thinks he is.

Please don't tell me an Argentinean is going to win OUR Open.
In this event, WD, Yogi's comment is always appropriate: "It ain't over till it's over."

Furyk fucked up when he didn't lay up on 17. I know that's Monday morning quarterbacking, but still, chances are he would have had a good look at a birdie and bogey would have been out of the question.

Oh well, another day closer to football season.

Tiger likewise. It's a freakin' par 4, and you're one stroke back. Lay up, pitch it up close, take the bird - and the tie - and get ready to play 18 more tomorrow when the pressure is all going to be on Cabrera. It could have been a *great* playoff if Furyk and Tiger both lay up and take birds. Number 1, number 3, and Cinderella.

Too funny.

My golf experience is limited to the year my ex tried to teach me to watch golf. Thank God those were vanilla lessons.

As european, I can only watch summaries... But I bet for Tiger.

Last time I played golf with a professional caddy I asked him:
"Well Caddy, How do you like my game?"
and the answer was: "Very good, Sir! But personally I prefer Golf." *lol*

I don't know. Tiger had to make birdie on 17. And he could go at it with a 3 wood and figure he had a good chance if he missed the green. Furyk only needed a par and figured he couldn't hit it that far anyway. He was too pumped up.

Bubba hung in there fairly well.
