A growing list of companies, including some in Chicago, are offering to help potential employees pay off their college debt.

How do those articles about her scaling back loan forgiveness, estopping states from suing loan companies, being found by Federal court to have illegally delayed the implementation of the borrowers defense to repaying rule, fail to bolster his claim?

The Federal Gov't has been using programs like this since 2002 or 2003 under Public Law 108-123, Federal Employee Student Loan Assistance Act.

It has been popular in the medical field since at least 2010 and has hit in different sectors like Tech since 2012.

The "Trump Effect" thing is a bunch of horseshit (except for the game-showification!)

I'll add making higher ed debt free for qualified students is a better solution.

Yes and no.

When "smart people" intentionally choose to begin careers in fields which are experiencing astronomical unemployment rates, it's not JUST the fault of the economy.

Career choices are made by individuals. The economy may have some influence in how viable those choices are, but the choice is still made by the individual. Choose wrong and it's on you and no one or anything else.

FWIW, many sectors experienced growth during the Obama years. Anyone capable of learning IT could have learned medical technology and gotten work before graduation. At higher rates of pay than a software engineer earns.
