Matthew was on his way back to the west coast for a visit with his father before he started looking for a job. He decided to take the train because he was in no rush to find a job, and his father was willing to support him until he found a job. He was spoiled in that regard. It however was a long trip from the east coast by train, and travelling by himself made it even worse.
He got to the train station 30 minutes early, and it gave him type to get his luggage on board, and settle in to his seat, as the rest of the passengers got on board. He pulled out a book a few minutes before the train was about to pull away, figuring the seat next to him would be empty. “Great, just great.” He muttered quietly. “A cross-country train ride, and no one to talk to, well at least right next to me.”
He just finished saying that when he heard a voice, a female voice very out of breath say, “Excuse me, I think your other bag is in my seat.” He looked up, and saw a beautiful female, around his own age standing there. “Sorry miss, I thought no one was going to be sitting there.” He said as he placed his small bag on the ground under his seat, and smiled at her as she sat down across from him. “You just made it.” He said as the train started to pull out of the station. “The names Matt by the way,”
