"Sit down, shut up, and pay attention!" the cold, ancient voice came toKarina just moments after she was blasted by a wave of air. Her ass now being rubbed by the palm of her hand as she pushed herself up from the cold stone floor some five feet from where she was standing moments ago.

Her orbs of emerald color glared through the alburn stands of hair that cascaded down over her eyes. I little huff and wave of her hand, Karina brushed the hair back and over her ear so that her cold glare would be seen and recognized.

"One of these days! I'll ..." Her words stopped as her eyes went wide. She heard the small mumbling from the old man, but before she could respond, her ass was burning! She began the fan dance. Her hands grabbed ahold of her leggins waistline while she jumped about, trying to fan what air she could down to her roseate ass cheeks.

"But not this day!" The old man informed her with that same cold, ancient tone of voice he regularly corresponded with.

"Okay! ... Okay!" She fumed as she walked back toward the stool and table, her eyes upon the old man as she slid her ass onto the hard, oak stool.

She hated this old man, well maybe she didn't hate him all the time, only when she was compelled to learn a language that was no longer used by anyone, why the hell did she have to learn it? She just didn't understand at all!

"Why do I have to learn a stupid language when no one uses it anymore?" She demanded but instantly toned down her voice when the old man began to mutter once more. "Okay!" She muttered as she picked the book up and began to read the language.

That was five years ago, and now, thanks to her knowledge of the ancient language, she was able to read and understand the ancient language that was scribed upon it. It talked about a tome of magic that held the powers of the gods within it, and she wanted this book! It wasn't about the power within that she wanted, she wanted to find it before The mages of the First Order, for they too wanted this book, but not for the greater good, but for their greed of power.

That evening she packed her backpack, gathered her things and headed south to the city of Enstad where her journey to find this book begins...

Enstad's soaring towers were impressive. Most of the city was, to speak the truth. Every house was, in itself, a work of art. Delicate archways, gracefully sweeping walls and wide windows seemed to sprout from every angle, one couldn't look about without seeing some other vision of architectural beauty.

Of course not everyone was appreciating it. To a certain kind of individual the city became less and less impressive after only a few days. Those particular individuals rarely did what thee rest of the city's visitors would do. Instead of wandering around gazing up at the awe-inspiring structures that seemed to occupy every corner of every street they found somewhere amongst their own kind.

That somewhere was the particular tavern that 'Tone found herself in. It was dirty, crowded, and filled with the smoke of the two huge fires at one end of the room. What looked like an entire cow was being turned over one of them. Several long, heavy tables ran the length of the room. Another table had collapsed and had been piled against the wall. The tables were mostly full, a messy collection of rogues, rapscallions and scoundrels all around.

'Tone was sat at one of those same tables with the rest of her crew. The tiefling had a half-empty tankard in front of her, having just poured most of it down her gullet. They'd been here for three days, and already most of the gold they'd been paid upon delivery of their cargo had been spent. Gold rarely lasted long in the hands of a mercenary crew, it seemed to slip through their fingers as easily as sand, frittered away on drink and whore for the most part.

Now they were looking for another job, it wouldn't be long before their brief flirtation with wealth was completely over, and they'd need a new employer just to put food in their bellies, never mind the luxuries.

'Tone glanced up as a newcomer entered the bar. Speaking of new employers…
