Prominent “Never Trump” Republican Joe Walsh reluctantly admitted the FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s home may have “pissed off” moderate Republicans into supporting him for 2024.

As Breitbart News reported, FBI agents swarmed the former president’s home in Florida on Monday, reportedly to obtain classified documents he allegedly had in his possession after leaving the White House, according to various sources.

"These are dark times for our Nation, as my beautiful home, Mar- A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” Trump said in a statement. “Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before.”

While Democrats, Never Trumpers, and far-left activists celebrated the FBI’s raid on the former president’s private residence – a completely unprecedented event – Joe Walsh said that “many GOP voters” told him that the raid inspired such anger in them that they will support Trump despite previously souring on his candidacy.

Yang, who left the Democrat Party in 2021 and launched a third party this year, tweeted a warning on Tuesday morning to those celebrating the raid, stating the FBI’s actions will fuel millions of Americans’ ever-increasing distrust of the “corrupt government establishment.”
I’m no Trump fan. I want him as far away from the White House as possible. But a fundamental part of his appeal has been that it’s him against a corrupt government establishment. This raid strengthens that case for millions of Americans who will see this as unjust persecution,” Yang wrote.
Disgraced former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo also questioned the motives for the raid, tweeting it could be “viewed as a political tactic.
"DOJ must immediately explain the reason for its raid & it must be more than a search for inconsequential archives or it will be viewed as a political tactic and undermine any future credible investigation & legitimacy of January 6 investigations,” Cuomo wrote.

Monday, during an appearance on FNC’s “Jesse Watters Primetime” following news that the FBI had raided former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, FL for undisclosed reasons, George Washington University Law School professor and constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley questioned why Attorney General Merrick Garland would not have proceeded with a special counsel before green-lighting the raid.

"Now, here you have the past opponent of the current president and the expected future opponent,” Turley continued. “I can’t imagine how Attorney General Garland would look at that situation and not see an absolute necessity for a special counsel. And, instead, they did this raid on this — on the former president’s home. And it is going to trigger the anger that you have already seen. Now, we don’t know what these charges are. The assumption is that it is related to January 6. We have seen warrants being issued from a grand jury. I have expressed skepticism over the ability to charge the president on the evidence that we have seen thus far in that committee.”

Even Andrew Cuomo is saying that unless the FBI/DOJ have something more than "classified documents" they overstepped.

I watched it. It’s pretty funny as he describes all the failures that happened during his term. The final line is, “The best is yet to come.” I assume that will be his trial, conviction and sentence.

The Justice Department and FBI have spent the past several years destroying so much of their own credibility that any explanation they provide for Monday's raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home will be insufficient.

These are the same agencies that orchestrated the Russia collusion hoax, the same agencies that refused to hold Hillary Clinton accountable for her mishandling of classified information, the same agencies that have allegedly covered up crimes committed by Hunter Biden, the same agencies that refused to prosecute illegal protests outside Supreme Court justices’ homes, and the same agencies that declined to investigate attacks, including arsons, against pro-life organizations and pregnancy centers.

Whatever statement they might provide about the Trump raid, the fact remains that FBI and DOJ officials have been acting as partisans on behalf of the Democratic Party for years now. There’s simply no reason to believe anything they say.

Several Democrats who supported the raid of former President Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate Monday previously criticized him for allegedly trying to "weaponize" the Justice Department on a number of different issues.

In a September 2019 tweet, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi accused Trump of trying to "weaponize" the Justice Department after it began investigating automakers who had reached a deal with California regarding fuel efficiency standards.

In May 2019, California Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff, now a member of the House select committee to investigate the January 6th Capitol protest, lashed out at Trump and former Attorney General William Barr as he accused them both of trying to "conspire" with one another in an attempt to gather information "against their political enemies."

Earlier this year, Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., one of seven Democrats serving on the nine-member January 6 committee panel, said Trump tried to "weaponize" the DOJ in an attempt "to retain power."
