The Threshold of Authorship

Some say it's when you finish writing your first story, others when your first submission is accepted. A lot may argue you are no author worthy of the title until you ask The Question or get The Answer.

Today, I feel more of an author than I did yesterday. I just got my first full personal bashing in a Public Comment, along with a 1 vote, of course. It's a real treat:

I get at least one of these, or a letter from the Lisa twins everytime one of my stories is posted. After a while you start to look forward to getting comments from people who think that what you write in fiction is actually real as far as they are concerned. It is high praise indeed for any author, and by no means should be interpreted as bad feedback. After all, it is the author's job to make it as believeable to the readers as possible. Congratulations! You are indeed an author in high standing.
