Just saying.

Ever watch a dog try to get a flea? They jump and poke with their nose and nip, but the flea gets away. Then the dog scratches because it can't help itself.

This is gonna be fun watching the Republicans scratch and itch they can't reach.

The Tea Party bashing is only happening because the Demz are scared shitless of them. Demz would prefer the conciliatory, compromising neocons of old. Better the devil they know.

The Tea Party types have written a check they can't cash. They have told people that they will somehow correct a lot of perceived failings on the part of the government. That isn't going to happen.

The mainstream Republican party types fanned the Tea Party flames because they wanted to win the elections. Now they are stuck with the Tea Party.

Good luck with that.

I'm going to enjoy this. I'm liking the elected Tea Partiers more and more.

They don't have a chance in hell, but it's going to be a fun show.

These fuckers have principles and they're going to make them 'splode on the floor.

and how dare someone want to make government accountable! that is nuts!

if the government takes in $10 in rev, that gov can only spend $10, not $50!!! this is just nuts! how dare someone try to limit government spending that is just wrong:confused:

I'm happy with the Tea Party guys that got elected. I am. I'm rootin' for 'em. Mostly.

I'm also equally grateful Christine O'Donnell wasn't one of them. But I'm moving on.

I think Rand Paul is going to do the equivalent of hold his political breath and throw a tantrum for two years. I'm not sure yet if that's a good or a bad thing. Depends on whether or not the tantrums have...panache.

I'm really hoping the Republican party does move more toward fiscal responsibility. I have no idea how that's going to happen, but that's what's fun about watching.

Watch them all get primaried by the GOP in two years.

Palin's skin, which is pretty taut now, is going to get down to one cell thick.

I still think Sarah Palin's a complete idiot. I can't watch her interviews, she's smug and they're painful to watch, as she has nothing to be smug about.

Yeah, the GOP primaries are going to be...really interesting.

I'm afraid this time around the Democrats look united in contrast. Something I thought I'd never see.

People dismissing the tea party a few months ago are revising their critiques now that the conservative faction of the GOP has shown legitimate muscle.
And no, the old guard Republicans didn't embrace the tea party. Funny how the story changes as time marches on.

I'm certainly revising mine. I like a lot of these guys. I'm not sure they're going to get anything done, but it'd be cool if they could.

Marco Rubio's speech after the election ripped status quo Republicans. On the campaign trail he ripped status quo Republicans. He ran against one.
Your analysis that the old guard Republicans "fanned the Tea Party flames" seems to be lacking.

That's the best part. He won my state! Woo hoo!

It's a nice ideal. Nuts to believe they will be able to.

Every newly elected politician of every party always say they want to "clean up the cronyism", "shake things up" and "change the way things are done".

Notning new this time really. They will be assimilated, or self destruct trying to resist it.

Senator-elect Marco Rubio delivers the Republican weekly address

"Hi, I'm Marco Rubio.

"With Election Day now behind us, it's an honor to talk to you about the opportunity before us - an opportunity to put America back on track.

"For too long, Washington has taken our country in the wrong direction: bigger government, reckless spending, and run away debt. And though I'm a proud Republican, here's the truth, both parties have been to blame.

"This election the American people said enough is enough. That message was loud and clear. We Republicans would be mistaken if we misread these results as simply an embrace of the Republican party. This Election is a second chance. A second chance for Republicans to be what we said we were going to be.

"America is the single greatest nation on earth, a place without equal in the history of all mankind. A place built on free enterprise, where the employee can become the employer. Where small businesses are started every day in a spare bedroom and where someone like me, the son of a bartender and a maid, can become a United States Senator.

"I know about the unique exceptionalism of our country. Not because I read about it in a book, I've seen it through my own eyes. You see, I was raised in a community of exiles, by people who lost their country, people who once had dreams like we do today, but had to come to a foreign shore to find them.

"For some their dreams were answered here in America, but many others found a new dream. To leave their children with the kinds of opportunities they themselves never had. And that is what we must do as a nation. To fulfill our sacred obligation to leave the next generation of Americans a better America than the one we inherited. And that is what this election was about.

"In the past two years, Republicans listened to the American people and what they said is that it was time for a course correction.

"The past two years provided a frightening glimpse at what could become of our great nation if we continue down the current path: wasteful spending, a growing debt and a government reaching ever further into our lives, even into our health care decisions.

"It is nothing short of a path to ruin, a path that threatens to diminish us as a nation and a people. One that makes America not exceptional, not unique, but more like the rest of the world.

"As Republicans, here is what our commitment should be to you. Our focus must not be simply winning elections. It must be to ensure the next generation inherits a strong, free and prosperous America.

"We will govern as public servants who understand that re-election is simply a byproduct of good public service and good ideas. And most importantly, we will stand up and offer an alternative to the policies coming out of Washington for the past two years.

"The challenges are too great, too generational in scope for us to be merely opponents of bad policies. Instead, we will put forward bold ideas and have the courage to fight for them. This means preventing a massive tax increase scheduled to hit every American taxpayer at the end of the year. It means repealing and replacing the disastrous health care bill. It means simplifying our tax code, and tackling a debt that is pushing us to the brink of our own Greece-like day of reckoning.

"For many of us coming to Washington for the first time and others returning to serve, it's a long way from home. A long way from the people whose eyes we looked into at town halls, at diners or roundtables, and promised that this time it would be different. That if you elected Republicans to office again, we would not squander the chance you gave us, and we must not. Because nothing less than the identity of our country and what kind of future we will leave our children is at stake.

"That is our commitment and from you we ask this: hold us accountable to the ideas and principles we campaigned on.

"This is our second chance to get this right. To make the right decisions and the tough calls and to leave our children what they deserve - the freest and most exceptional society in all of human history.

"Thank you for listening, God bless you and your family, and may God continue to bless the United States of America."

Are you married? Is it nuts for your spouse to believe you'll be faithful to her?

I do not believe I've ever seen a squirrel wave a white flag with so much apathetic talent.

But, then again, how could a socialist squirrel even escape his own mental culture?

I'll try my best to view you as a simple victim from now on...

You got the "simple" part right.

He's right about one thing there. America IS without equal in one aspect. In no other country could he have become a United States senator.

The other things he mention? Happens all the time.

Just sayin'.

It's nice to se all this idealism. Really heart warming.

There's probably something abut kool-aid that I could say here.

Washington to a politician is like a massive commune full of nubile nymphomaniacs to a penis.

I say she'd be better off with a wary approach.

Do you trust the Tea Party folks will fart rainbows just because they say they want to?
