He had no memories of his own. He knew things, of course, but he couldn't even remember so much as his name. The mercenary swordsman who found him and taught him how to wield a blade named him Fate, because it seemed trouble followed him around. Of course, the real test came when the man who found him died in battle. Fate was lost after that. He wandered, carrying the old man's sword. He wandered far away from the battlefield, and eventually ended up in an old forest. He was weary, weak from hunger, and ended up passing out. He heard a voice speaking to him, but wasn't sure where it was coming from. He couldn't open his eyes, and remained unconscious, even as he felt himself being picked up and moved. He could still hear the voice.

When he finally came to, he was resting in an ornate bed, with silk sheets and draperies. He heard the same voice singing softly. He sat bolt upright, looking around startled. One hand went to his side, only to find he was without a weapon.

Adewen had watched the battle from the tree's and waited her job was to guard the boarders of there lands, but not interfear. Tho one warrior caught her attention, and held it.

She watched him as he fought, and thought his movements magnifacent and dare she complement a human but he was proving a fine warrior.

Adewen watched him move twards the trees and followed. The battle had ended and there boarders were safe. Flying above him she watched as he sank to his knees.

Landing near by she spoke to him as she approched trying to let him know that she wouldnt harm him. Seeing that he was unconcious Adewen lifted him into her arms and carried him to her home.

Tho she knew it was dangerious and perhaps foolish, she was not the first of her kind to save a human life, and nor would she be the last.

Gently she lay him in her own bed removed his clothing, cleanning and dressing his wounds, as well as laying out clean garments for him to wear once he awoke. His sword she lay not far from him. Knowing that she could defend herself if need be.

For three days she tended his needs, making sure he had nurshment and used her own healing hands to heal his injurys.. now only time would do the rest.

Adewen is a Graceful and striking winged elf standing at around 5ft 4in, and weghing around 110 lbs. Her eyes are azure in color, and her white hair is long hitting just above her waist line.

The clothing she wears is simple and loose so it dose not impeed her wings. The top tying around the neck and waist, with a long flowing skirt to match both were gray in color. Her wings are like that of eagles' wings but much larger, and are a darker gray in color than what her clothing was.

Adewen sat at a harp on the balcony to her chamber's where she could still watch the human and sing... she started softly and let the notes float out on the wind letting it carrie them where it would.

She stopped singing when she saw the human jerk upwards and reach for the wepon he thought was at his waist.. Rising from where she sat on the balcony she slowly entered the chambers.

Would you attack the one who saved your life ?.... she asked moving so that he could see her better but staying beyond his reach.. Your wepon is there on the stand not far from you, and there is fresh clothing at the end of the bed near your feet....... I'll leave you to decide if you wish to accept my hospatalaty or fight... the choice is yours. she said simply and calmly.

He blinked, turning to look at the movement he saw out of the corner of his eye. Studying the form, and realizing he was unarmed, he sighed, and shrugged. Then he winced, and fell back onto the bed. He sighed again, his mind going over the events that put him in the place he last remembered being. He remembered fighting alongside the mercenary that had rescued him. Then he remembered wandering. Finally, he remembered collapsing under some trees. He looked at her again, thinking. "Who are you, and how did I get here?"

Adewen watched as he lay back on the bed, and knew that for the time being he would not attack. My name is Adewen and this is my home... i expect you will have some questions.... i will leave you to dress and will await you in the other room. she said making sure to keep her distance as she moved twards the door, and into another room of her house.

Fate nodded noncommitally, then closed his eyes, thinking. He didn't feel like standing up. Still, he would have to at some point. He shrugged, then slowly climbed out of bed after she was gone. He did a few stretches, trying to limber up his muscles. Then he looked at the clothing she had left him. He shook his head, then slowly pulled the outfit on, and thought for a moment. Then he grabbed the sword, and buckled it around his waist.

The room Adewen had entered off of her own was a cross between a librarry and a medatation room. There were bookshelves that lined the walls as well as plants on the ledge of the large window, and some incence holders on ether side of the mat and pillows in the center of the room. Candles hung in lanterns affixed to the walls. Tho it was a large room it was not so large as her acutal library down stairs.. this room was her's alone.

Adewen had lit some incence to try and help sooth and calm both her nerves and that of the human when he entered. There was no need to light candles as of yet it was still daylight out.

She had allowed him to sleep in her bed and now she was allowing him into her own sancuary. She wondered breifly if she were indeed a fool. His wounds she knew were healed his body was simply tense from the lack of excersise over the last three days, and from waking in a strange place.

Adewen stood near the window and watched as the human entered dressed and with his wepon at his side. He still had not awncered her first question... would he truly fight the one who saved his life... had she made a mistake in saving him?? most of her kind would think so.. The clothing she had chosen fit him well, and looked to sute him better than the clothing he had worn when she found him.

I will awncer your questions as best i can... you may ask when ever your ready. she said and waited.

Fate staggered slightly as he entered the room, then shook it off, forcing his muscles to move. He made his way over to where she was, ignoring the area around him. Finally, he leaned against a wall, and slowly sank to a sitting position. He took a deep breath, then looked at her as she made her statement. He considered, then shrugged. "I should be leaving soon. I don't think it would be safe for you if I stay here."

Adewen smiled and did her best not to laugh for no one entered the forrest here who was not welcomed or allowed to enter by one of her kind. This forrest and the mountian beyon was there home, and they guarded it well.

I beleave you are safe here, for the time being, but if you wish to leave i will take you to the edge of the forrest and you may find your way from there, but tell me if you will.... why is it you think i would not be safe if you stayed, and what is your name? she said watching him with a curious light in her eyes as she walked to a small table and picked up a cup.

Walking back to him she offered it to him. It will not hurt you... it is only water. she said taking a drink to asure him it was safe and then handing it to him.

Fate sighed, then shook his head. "I was on the battlefield. I'm the only survivor, as far as I know. The mercenary that raised me named me Fate. This sword is all that's left of him." He closed his eyes, his mind going over the memories of the battle.

Adewen was carful not to touch him as his memories took hold, and set the cup of water next to him as she spoke softly you are the only survivor of the battle. I watched from the forrest as i guarded or borders. I am sorry for your loss. Adewen stepped away and let the human Fate greve for the man who raised him.

Fate opened his eyes suddenly, and shook his head. "They'll be hunting for me. They don't like survivors." He stretched, then walked over to a window.

Adewen was puzzled by Fates words, and wished he would expalin more but did not ask him to do so. If he wished to explain then he would, and she would not force him, she was a healer and could defend herself and her home when necessary but no more. When you are rested and ready to leave.. i will take you to the edge of the forrest as i said before.

Fate was studying the surroundings. If she was right, he wouldn't be able to find his way out anyways. He considered that. It might mean they couldn't find their way in. Still, if they got desperate enough, they might torch the forest. He closed his eyes, then shook his head. "I'll trust you. But I warn you, the Draco Furhen may not take this lightly."

Adewen's eyes narrowed as she suddenly had him by the front of his shirt and off of his feet looking him in the eyes.. What do you know of these monsters that distroy everything and everyone in there paths, and what is your connection to them human??

Adewen didnt ushually act so rashly but she had heard of these Draco Furhen they were supposed to be human but she as well as others who had fought to protect there homeland knew there was something more to them than that, and they were dangerious. Had she brought them here by saving this human? Would her people be destroyed for her mistake?

Adewen looked him in the eyes.. Awncer me human... she said.. trying not to shake him in her anger, because she wanted awncers not his death.

Fate winced slightly, then started coughing uncontrollably. He tried to answer, and did get a few words out. "Fighting...them...Kashue...died."

Hearing him cough and seeing him wince Adewen slowly set him on his feet and moved away from him. I will need to warn my people so we can prepare, and as the damage has already been done i see no point in turning you out. she said

Fate sank down into a sitting position, breathing heavily. He slowly looked up at her, wincing again. The pain slowly subsided, but he figured she had to have been the one who healed him. He felt incredible weak, maybe that was why moving hurt so much. "They really must have done a number on me. But, what bugs me is, why did I live? Master Kashue was a much greater swordsman than I am."

To that i have no awncer, but you do need to eat and reast. I had one of the guest chambers prepared for you and you may use it, and i will have food brought to you while i go speak with my people, I advise you to remain here until i return for your own safety. she said and moved twards him this time to help him stand.

She walked with him slowly twards her own chamber and then thru antoher door that led down a short hall. The room she gave him was two doors down from her own on the right. Rest Fate... I will return soon.. she said and left him there.

Seeing one of her servents in the hall she asked that food and water be brought to Fate's room, and then walked out onto one of the blaconys around her home and flew off threw the trees to meet with the councel of her people about the Draco Furhen.

It is possable that the Draco Furhen were heading there way even with out Fate having escaped them. They had been cutting a bloody path over the land for the last few years keeping only a few of each race they distroyed as ether pets or slaves. None had been able to stand against them thus far save a few warriors who in the end dissapeared.

Fate nodded, rising to his feet with her help. He let her lead him to a room, and when she opened the door, he studied the furnishings intently. It wasn't spartan, like what he was used to. In fact, there might have been too much furniture. It looked like there was a full sized couch in one section of the room. He raised an eyebrow, looking at her for a moment, then let her leave. She seemed a little odd to him, but he couldn't figure out why, aside from her being a winged elf. He just shrugged, and made his way to the bed. On his way, he unbuckled the sword belt, and removed his boots. Then he dropped them on the floor in one corner, and climbed onto the bed. He laid down slowly, then closed his eyes, but couldn't fall asleep.

Adewens people were not happy with her news or that she had helped the human Fate, but allowed that she may be right and that the Draco Fayhen were problably already headed there way.

The meeting when well into the evening They left the human Fate in Adewen's charge it was her job to keep an eye on him and if he caused any trouble she would be out cast, because she had helped him.

It was also decided that a few warriors and most of the women and younglings would move further up into the mountians to hide and dissapear higher up near the peaks unitl it was safe, but manny of the healers and fighers would remain to try and defend there forrests... It was also understood that should they be loosing the fight they were to flee so that there race may survive.

Adewen wasnt sure what to think about everything but wouldnt go against the councles wishes. Returning home she asked how Fate faired, and was told that he still slept. Moving to her own chamber she asked that a bath be brought so that she could clean up before it was time to eat.

After the bath had been brought Adewen removed her clothing and stepped into the warm steaming water. It felt good and helped her to begin relaxing. The mucles in her body had been tense sence Fate had woken and reached for his sword.

She leaned back making sure she didnot crush her wings and used a cloth to begain soaping her neck, sholders and breasts... She closed her eyes and let out a small sigh... as she lay her head back against the tub her wings draped over the edges on ether side.

She felt foolish for having put herself into the positon of being exiled for saving a human, but the healer in her could do no other, and so be it she thought... Fate our fates have truly been ironicly linked.

Suddenly she didnt feel alone in the chamber and she didnt remember hearing the door open, sitting up she looked around her room, and said. Come forward whom ever you are..

Fate had woken up with a start. Again, instinctively, his hand had reached for the sword that wasn't at his waist. He sighed, realizing he didn't have it on. He shook his head, then got out of bed, stretching slowly. He stood up, and grabbed his boots, pulling them on. He hesitated for a moment, looking at the sword that he had had with him. It had actually been his master's sword. He had taken it with him, as the older man's last wish. Resolutely, he strapped it on, and then searched the house. He found Adewen in a bathtub, and then realized she was naked, as she called him out of the shadows. He looked away, blushing, and stepped out of the showers. "Miss Adewen, they're coming."

Adewen stood allowing the water to run down her body as she stepped from the bath and walked to the edge of her bed to pick up one of the towel's there. She had been prepared to yell at him when he stepped forward but seeing his blush, and that he kept his eyes averted had stopped her.

She wasnt shy in her nudity, but wrapped the towel around herself for his sake. It bothered her that she hadnt heard him enter, but his words were of more import at the moment.. Who comes Fate? My people or the Draco Fayhen? she asked.

Fate closed his eyes, already seeing what the sword itself was sensing. The sword had, according to Kashue, been enchanted by ancient Draconian mages, and blessed by priests. It definitely allowed him to see in places that he was not. He could already see the monsters marching through the forest, slicing through trees and carrying big torches. "They're planning on burning the forest, whether they find me or not. And I have no idea why they're after me."

Adewens eyes narrowed as she dropped the towel and moved a few steps further away so that when she shook herself the water would not splash Fate and get him wet.

Shaking herself helped dry her wings faster so that she could dress as well as fly right away. Dressed in a simalar style of clothing as before the only differeance was insted of cloth she wore leather. Just as she finnished dressing and reached for her wepons the alarm sounded.

Quickly strapping on a quiver of arrows and grabbing a short bow, as well as placing a short sword at her side she looked at Fate and said Come with me my people have already left, and i am to keep you in my charge. If you are not afraid of flying then i will carrie you.

Fate opened his eyes, then nodded slowly. "I assume you intend to fight? I will do so as well. It is what Kashue would want." He started stretching, limbering himself up. Then, satisfied that he wouldn't have any problems with his muscles, he drew his sword and did a few practice swings, before sheathing it. "I'm ready."
