Jim Broadbent is a hell of an actor!

I love his work!

he was brilliant in only fools and horses

He ca re-invent himself for the role. Alfred Molina is like that too.

I do not care how depressing Iris is, I must see it! I might even see Moulin Rouge, but I do not what to pay to see that one.

How about Denzel Washington winning over Russell Crowe???

:D Most thought Crowe was a shoe in :p

two surprises

Halle Berry......Best Actress

Denzel Washington.......Best Actor

All I can say is....congrats!!!

What emotion from Ms. Berry! Genuine! She has
indeed broke down the color barrier for the best
actress category.........how ironic that she mentioned
Dorothy Dandridge, because that is who she played
back in '99 and won an Emmy for portraying her.......

And for Denzel......he got an Oscar for best supporting
actor for "Glory" back in '89.......and now......Best
Actor......talk about Sidney Poitier being a good luck
charm so to speak!

I am glad that the Academy finally recognized what
should have been recognized over the past years.......
well done!

No good Oscar nominations this Year again

Wut?

No Julia Roberts az a semi-good lookin'?

The best films lost and so did the best actors. Denzel Washington for 'Training day'? That ranks up there with Tom hanks for 'Big'. Ms Berry :( You are kidding. No performance credibility at all!

Thegood actors were the wrong colour tonight, thats what happens when only 5000 people get to vote on a worldwide event and when the theme for this evening, ladies and gentlemen is 'Black'.

British Golden Globes has more credibility.

i personally love the oscars but i think there should be as much who-ha for the music awards, just as many talented people

I haven't seen Iris. But Ben Kingsley was fucking brilliant in Sexy Beast.

Yep I agree...

He scared the living daylights out of me.

I kept thinking about all those raving nutters out there...

:D

Denzel Washington?
His movie was called what?

Never fucking heard of it.

We were ripped off i fucking tell ya.

There isn't as much emphasis on the music awards because quite frankly even though the Oscars make mistakes at times, the shittiest actors don't consistently win.

The music awards are about the masses, the Oscars really aren't.

The day legitimate groups start winning music awards then maybe people will give a shit.

You're are smoking something I do not have available at the moment.

The entire Oscars media driven feast is driven for the masses, even those that deride it watch it eg YOU, it's a perfect example of what you Americans do well - bend to the popular, you rush from one shallow trend to another, the entire concept of artistic credibility as well as contribution is completely foreign to you (pardon the pun). Such a shallow country. I've lived there, I've seen it.

McDonalds Culture.

And that is what the Oscars celebrate - art is way down at the end of the line.

It was 'Training day' He played a bad guy and he was black - that's all it takes, it was a cops and robbers film, done rather badly. Box office, not to good?

I have to go, a 16 hour shift awaits me, play nice kiddies

Jim Broadbent was a big (and welcomed) surprise for me!!

I was thrilled for Ron Howard but ...

Randy Newman was my biggest "surprise"!! (He's the Susan Lucci of the Oscars!).:D
