The Suicide Pod

Yeah, I get it. You put down women having autonomy of their bodies.

Is this the new right wing entertainment grift?

It's similar to their cheese.

Lots of holes
What they call Swiss cheese is gruyere and it smells like dirty feet and they put it on everything. Had a Subway sandwich with it and couldn't eat it. Yeah. TMI. :)

Just as we respect people's freedom to live their lives as they choose, so too should we respect people's freedom to end their lives on their own terms, if they have that choice.

This isn't an argument for society creating suicide pods or funding suicide facilities, but everyone owns their own life, and they are under no obligation to live it to suite other people's desires or ideologies.

As a society, I think we do have an obligation to promote healthy and happy lives for everyone, and I have no objection to society discouraging suicide as a choice solution to problems.

But if a person has fully decided to end their life on their own terms, after we've done our best to present alternative solutions and pathways forward, I would ultimately respect that it is their life and their choice.

I just saw that this morning and the first thing it reminded me of was Logan's Run.

I think it beats a handgun to the head or a bridge bungee without the cord.

I'm claustrophobic, so I'd wanna be sedated...

Yes.

If the "It's my body" argument has won the day and force of law, then it is my body and If I don't want it cremated, then no one should say otherwise, certainly not the State.

If I want to self-terminate, in reality, law or no, all I need to do is not alert Big Brother or the other watchers. I do not wish to self-immolate or be cremated. Everyone I know tells me I'm going to be very, very warm, Fahrenheit 451 hot after death, so it's all like piling on...

It could be legal if the pod were a large uterus. Location, location, location. :)

If it's ok with you, I'll ask Mr. MorningStar to save you a room near the pool.

Bad news, it's a lava pool with a flaming layer of crude oil on top. Pretty in the evenings on occasion, but not someplace you want to go swimming.
