The Strut & Boast Thread

Finally got up to 170 lbs.

Been trying to get above 165 for ages, and sitting home after shoulder surgery
not only made me flabby, but caused a drop in weight as well to just over 160.

Since my Physical Therapy guy started me on weights about 2 mos ago, I've
gained back the original weight, plus another 6 lbs. It's all nicely toned muscle.
Haven't felt this good in a long time, and I've noticed some of my female friends
checking me out.

On Friday:

1. I kept my temper and dignity when a little girl of 11 went into hysterics in the middle of the corridor and kept screaming "Liar!" at me at window-shattering volume.

2. I kept my temper and dignity when a 16 year old boy pushed his face right in mine and yelled at me to go and fuck myself.

3. I confronted the scariest headteacher in the world face to face and told her exactly why I was walking away from this job after Christmas. I also managed to keep it together (even though my bottom lip started to go a bit) until I was in the privacy of my car.

4. I made it to the end of the week without cracking up. Only six more weeks to go...

On Saturday:

1. I got to Level 4 in a new video game.

2. I wrote something about what it's like to come out to your parents, when you've grown up in a small town. Originally I did it to get it off my chest, but it's actually quite entertaining and I feel pretty proud of it.

Well done to everyone else for all of their achievements. :rose:

*hugs for Schez*

Been there, done that, didn't bother buying the fucking T-shirt.

You deserve a better job, and you did good in keeping your dignity like that.

(Don't you agree that the phrase "go fuck yourself" lost some of its original effect as an insult ever since they invented dildos?) ;)

That's what fathers do. But only when asked.

awwwww Og!!!
Not *my* father... he wouldn't know the difference between a dangling participle and metaphor... want to be my substitute? :)

I think you're the coolest dad in the world... and I bet they do too! Definitely something worth boasting about...

*****

my boast for the day?
I got outta bed... ! <grin>

Congrats! I know how that feels ... I'm training for my first triathlon *yikes*

My brother got me into it ... he has his own triathlon club and just finished the Florida Ironman yesterday in 11 hours and 45 minutes. We are sooo proud ...

Now if I can get my ass into gear ... :p

Are you sure that's a wise expression to use on THIS site? :D

Well done. Best wishes for the next six weeks and then for your future school-children free life beyond.

I just bought a new cell phone, with tons of finesses. I've been saving for months to afford this! :)
