The Stoller Conspiracy.

I'd like to establish the Stoller name as a name of wealth and influence in CHYOO. In threads calling for a character coming from an important family, I'm going to using the last name Stoller as much as possible in order to reinforce this. In my Crossover Kitty story (approval pending), the main female character has that last name, and a familial connection would make connections between characters easier.

I hope there are no objections, and I’m asking that other people join me in spreading the name this if the opportunity comes up for them.

Switch76, your stories used the Stoller name first. Any objections?

Nah, just money and sometimes influence. It's a large enough family that there can be variation among the members.

That's fine. For anyone that is interested, the original Miss Stoller is one of the best characters in my story A boy at a girls school. She was created by gystex. Here's the thread where she is introduced.

Samantha Stoller
She's the girl in the shower. She's Miss Stoller's daughter and rules the school. The main guy in the story falls under her control.

Edna Stoller
She's described as the nerd girl and seems pleased to have some attention from the main guy. She's Miss Stoller's stepdaughter.

Okay, my story (Professor Puppetmaster) is up now. The character is Elizabeth Stoller, and so far her appearance is just an introduction in this thread.

Something particularly special about that name? Or is it just to be code for snooty rich person? Or CHYOO inside joke?

Any other suggestions for the Stollers other than wealth and privilege?

Nothing particularly special. The purpose of the "conspiracy" is to make it into an inside joke by making the Stoller family "important." This means that if a person is rich and powerful, this can be expressed more easily by making them part of the Stoller clan. Also, it facilitates any tie-ins between stories by linking their universes together with a common trait.

It makes things more complex and some worlds don't lend themselves well to crossovers (Absolute Power, for example wouldn't work very well), but two of switch76's stories worked pretty good for that purpose.

Lastly, it gives us something to do together and to talk about.

White Slavery on the Dark Continent

I have a couple of characters in "White Slavery on the Dark Continent" who are daughters of privilege, and I would be willing to rename one or the other:

Nicole Cambridge is a blonde college student from Canada. She studies anthropology and is very interested in popular black culture. Her parents are fabulously wealthy and pay for her trip to accompany her professor to Africa. She is not very bright, but is trusting and very enthusiastic.

Debbie White is a redheaded photographer from England. Her family were colonial administrators in Africa and continue to have large commerical holdings there. She travels to Africa with her friend, a beauty queen, on a mission of publicity-driven humanitarianism. Debbie tends to be a little more level-headed than her pageant princess companion, but otherwise her characterization is a little thin.

Have a read of their threads (starting under the "researchers" and "Miss South Africa" topics respectively) and let me know which one would make a better Stoller. And hey, why not submit a thread while you're there!

I'm also happy to hear if anyone is horrified by the notion of altering the name of semi-established characters.
