I just finished listening to To W's speech and it caused me to think about the state of my union with dr.blue. To tell you the truth, we had planned on getting divorced in September. As a matter of fact, minutes before the WTF bombing on 9/11/01, I had faxed a final draft of our divorce settlement to her for review. Well, after watching the events of that tragic day and doing a great deal of soul searching and reappraisal, dr. blue and I decided to make some very drastic changes in our relationship and accept each other for who we are.

It's been a very different kind of relationship for us than before. We still live in seperate homes but we treat each other in a much more loving, respectful and understanding fashion than we ever did before.

Long standing behaviors that irked us are now accepted as part of the deal. When either of us find a behavior intolerable we discuss it,openly and lovingly. If the behavior is intolerable we simply say so and part company for awhile and get together later on. Living in seperate homes makes this much easier to accomplish.

Life is not perfect and neither is the state of our union. However, it's pretty damn good and it appears to be getting better every day.

So, in the immmortal words of Tony Sopranno, "How you doin'"???

Good for you Blue! I'm glad you've found a happy medium.

Me? I'm doing fine. We have our little tiffs, but on the whole our "Union" is doing great.
I'm looking forward to our future together, and that can't be a bad thing! :)

So about the speech, anything interesting? I didn't get to watch it, I would've but I was, ah, doing other things?
