The smarter, better educated people voted Democrat -- again

In 1952, a reporter told Adlai Stevenson, "Every thinking American is behind you!" Stevenson replied, "That's fine, but I need a majority to win!"

The talking heads were jerking off at the thought of Rand going to Washington and holding the entire government hostage.

Whatever gets them off... I guess.

Rand Paul is a whackjob.

However, I don't recall Mr. Paul burying the country in an unprecedented $1.5 trillion of debt. That took a lot of work from the likes of Karl Rove, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Dick Cheney...

The states face another $150 billion in debt obligations including the economic engine of Texas.

Didn't Gov. Goodhair get re-elected?

The Left missed a wonderful opportunity to show us how smart they are when they controlled the White House and Congress a few short months ago. But now theyre sitting in the back of the bus again....cuz they thought the rest of us are fools.

So, how's it feel like to take a stand for stupidity?

No, you tell us how it feels to take a stand for stupidity. To JAMESBJOHNSON's point, it is the Lefties who have now squandered control of the White House and Congress.

DCL - I guess even smarter and better educated people fuck up sometimes!

To paraphrase Winston Churchill: But we'll be back in power in two years, and you'll still be stupid! :)

Yes, Texas re-elected their governor.

Nobody has ever acccused Texans of having good taste.

Though I did not agree with the re-election, I stand behind my fellow
Texans and respect their collective decision as a whole. We are loyal to each other that way in the end. Folks here should try that.

That's a bold statement King-O! Quoted it for posterity and will take the jab if it makes you feel better. I can appreciate your feeling a bit raw today (GOP gains in states is an under reported story today). :D

May have agreed that there was a better chance of D-rats being back in power in two years if the GOP won the Senate too (and did not deliver). With the House only win, the President's and GOP's fortunes are tied more closely. Obama uses the veto too much and guess who becomes the "party of no?"

Other dynamic for 2012 is the number of Senate seats in play - 23 for D's, 10 for R's. Should be interesting. Really, I'm hoping for some collaboration from both sides.

"Independent voters, who in 2006 mostly voted for Democrats and helped end the Republicans’ 12-year majorities in the House and Senate, this time turned just as strongly against Democrats, according to surveys of voters who were leaving polling places. Two other groups who recently supported Democrats — suburban residents and college graduates — also gave Republican Congressional candidates more votes this year.

That support was in addition to the Republicans’ traditional strong backing from men; white voters; those making more than $100,000 a year; conservatives; white Protestants; evangelicals; frequent churchgoers; and Southerners. Roman Catholic voters, a swing group, favored Republicans after supporting Democrats in the last two elections.

Democrats drew support from their traditional base — younger voters; blacks and Hispanics; those without high school diplomas and those with post-graduate education; less affluent voters; black women; union members; and Easterners. "

One does not need eyes to see. Though your point is well taken BB.

Rand Paul earned his MD from Duke, but folks here think that they are smarter and better educated than he is. That's adorable.
