Whos' better off?

The guy dozing on the porch with a cold beer, with the Stetson pushed forwards over his face to shield it from the sun? Or the guy wolfing down Spaghetti Vongole in the local Italian restaurant?

The old Greek guys playing Backgammon in the shade of the olive tree, sipping tea? Or the old ladies popping quickly into the National Gallery just before they they go to see the latest Play at the Criterion?

Vote for the Fast or Slow life!

no can do.
i like both and sometimes neither. why the hell couldnt you come up with something more, shall we say, middle of the road?

I'm with you Vella - there is hardly enough information here to make a decision.

What make is the beer?
Is the parmesan fresh or ready grated?

The Greeks are out of it as anyone who's drunk tea in Greece knows.
Will they let me take my knitting into the Criterion?

Yup...joining vella slap bang in the middle, then I can swop back and too when I like :)

Ok, kids, don't snap my head off

Yeah, you're all correct of course. Sometimes we like the country, sometimes the city. Sometimes we like it to take up the shitter, sometimes we like to give it up the shitter. And my polls are neither "incredibly dull" nor "incredibly stupid": The truth, as with everything, lies somewhere in between.

Does that mean you keep tossing in bed?

yes, and sadly all by my lonesome. *insert feel sorry for me please, pout*

My dream place would be out in the country, so far out, you cant hear cars going down the road.
A massive wrap around porch to sit out and drink what ever. A fresh water spring pond to swim and do what ever "IN".
A field of wild flowers surrounding my property.
A couple horses (never rode a horse in my life).
Enough money in the world to buy a stash of fabric so Id never have to leave my property- EVER!

Yeh. I know that feeling. 1500 miles apart again.

1800 miles apart for us. but the future looks bright and im hoping for a visit either there or here before june.
youve got my empathy, sweetie.

I forgot to add, Id love to have a couple guest rooms/houses to invite people to stay, when I want them to. That way I can choose who I want around me instead of not having a choice.
lol Mean old bitch arent I! lol

Slow life for me. Lived the fast life once and the stress literally drove me insane.

Boredom is a highly underrated commodity.

I'm too fast on the inside so I like it slow outside. But then I start showing myself and ruin it, haha. Nah, I learned early on to cultivate a calm persona, but sometimes I can't help letting go (it works with the right people though). No middle-of-the-road for me.

RG got it right.

Slow.

Fast life left me drooling in a hospital bed once, and I'm not gonna let that happen ever again.

At age 51 I got the chance of early retirement from the UK Civil Service - on full pension - and grabbed it. Since then I've been to University, got myself a degree, and worked as a part-time lecturer (surprising myself by enjoying it!)

Slow lane for me, because if it gets too much I can just walk away.

I wouldn't mind that I chose Slow if some of you had chosen Fast. Hanging out online at all hours with a group composed of 100% Slows makes me feel not just Slow but Stopped.

Move along, people. C'mon. Let's see some energy out there! Kick-box classes! Bicycle racing! High-speed Internet! Move! Move! Move!

I enjoy casually siiting at an outdoor, downtown cafe, sipping my coffee, watching people rush to work, and blowing raspberries.
