Well I'm a huge fan of Buffy and felt like getting a rp going based on the second season of the show, I want to gauge interest first so I don't want to put too much of a story together until I know there is interest and also have other people to make the plot up with.

The premise I have come up with though is that a vampire version of the slayer has come to town. Basically a vampire created for the purpose of killing the slayer. I know it's vague but until there are more people on board there is really no need to get too in depth. In addition to combating this uber-vamp I want to have some social related dilemma as well, for that my ideas are picture day at school, a carnival in town for which the students are 'volunteered' by principal Snyder or something else along those lines just to keep with the feel of the show. Often I find threads and RP's about Buffy concentrate too much on the slayer side and not the other part of her struggle surviving high school.

I will be looking for 3-6 players roughly to play members of the scooby gang and the villain of the piece. I don't mind if someone wants to play multiple characters so long as they designate their posts so that we know which character is being posted for. If you wish to play an original character please fill out an application. If you want to be one of the existing characters just pm me or post a sample role play in character here to show me what you've got.

Buffy- Me (unless someone really badly wants to play her then, just give me a juicy buffy post to show me you will be dedicated to the thread seeing as no Buffy rp goes far if the player playing her isn't pro-active.)

Spike and Dru won't be necessary to have this thread a go but if someone wants to play them they are more than welcome.

Oh and one more note, I would rather the thread move slower and have lengthier posts, one or two sentence posts are really not acceptable so please if you want to join be prepared to put in two- four paragraphs per post at least and use the best spelling and grammar possible. I don't mean to come off as snooty or like I am a terrific writer by any stretch but there has to be some standard and I promise to live up to it myself.

There is going to be at least a minimum of one paragraph right? I can't stand one liners. I don't see how anyone can play off of those.

yes for sure I personally feel bad when I only have two paragraphs in a post so I try to find ways of incorporating more detail. You are so right about it being impossible to play off a one line post which is why I stopped doing srp cuz I find there are more people looking to cyber than actual writers in that section. Not that I'm a good writer but I just can't get into a story if it feels the other people aren't.

I'd prefer Spike but I can handle the Big Bad since I can kinda make him up as we go along.

As much as I hate one liners or single paragraphs I'd rather a single paragraph that means soemthing than 8 of pure fluff and in my exp the people who hate one liners are famous for filling the rest with visual fluff. I don't need to see the glare off your new polished boots if your post doesn't move the story along.

Well yes I agree with that unless the polished shoes are in some way showing off a character trait as in the character is obsessed with perfectly clean boots or something of that sort but pointless sentences can be daunting to have to read through when there's no significance to them.

Either of them is fine with me. If you want to be the big bad could you write up a character application for him. Or if you wish to be Spike could you just put up a sample post please and thank you?

If the details are importany by all means give them to me. I'm not saying that shining boots can't be important. I'm saying that you giving me the details of your breathing (unless maybe we're having sex) doesn't move things along and I see WAY too many posts that are four paragraphs of "flaxen hair flowing in the gentle breeze flowing like an eternal stream. . . ." And when boiled down to it's purest element it was actually. "Yes I agree with your plan."

Anyway about how Big a Bad do you want?

And how much leeway from the show's cannon can we go? I always had a few minor problems with the cannon. Like that the Initiative and Watcher's Council's being mutually unaware of each other while both were intimiately aware of Angel and various details of his life. Even if no one picks her up (or if you or I use her as a tool to move things along) do we have Kendra flitting about?

Yes I agree totally with your paragraph.

As for the Initiative I never was a huge fan of season four so in starting at season two I'm hoping to preclude them from existence. I agree that there are always going to be some holes that in hindsight having seen the whole show we can go about patching up and making more sense. I'm picturing us about half way through the first season so Kendra could be a factor if we need her to be we can have her come back into the picture or leave it as is with her off enjoying any movie that doesn't have a dog or Chevy Chase.

The Big Bad if you like my idea is a vampire that is like the mirror image of the Slayer, made just to kill the slayer. So I don't want to tread too close to the whole season seven uber vamp thing but a vampire maybe like Luke the Vessel in the first episode (excluding that horrible horrible un-aired pilot) a big strong vamp, possibly dashing and full of guile and wit though with the psychotic tunnel-vision of Angelus. If we have Angel played as Angelus that could lead to some jockeying between the two as both want to kill the Slayer.

If you have another idea for another villain you think would be more compelling I'd be all ears as I am seeing how my idea could be treading on redundant.

Personally I think the initiative was the best idea with the worst execution possibly in the show's history. That's beside the point, I know what I want to do as a villian but like most villians in Buffy it would be mostly background so I'd just need you to trust me on that.

What we need though is more players than I think we'll get. And I highly recomend doubling up because some of teh charachters are great but nobody would want to play cus in an action RP you need to be able to hold up your end and Xander can't. Cordellia can't. Oz can. . .three nights a month. Willow can't until season 4/5 (though I wouldn't cry if we bumped up her power enough that she's competent in season 2.

Well I'm hoping to have more than just an action rp hence why i suggested a carnival or something to go along. I don't mind playing a few characters but I think we need at least one or two more people to join up before this thing can get off the ground. If that doesn't happen we might have to rethink the concept. Possibly Buffy is isolated in a labyrinth or something and it's just her and the big bad, though to make that thread last there would need to be some weird angle to it.

I think a carnival is a bit too wacky. I think we could make an alternate Season 2. If it comes down to one on one or one on two and you want a labrynth I suggest we do an alternate version of the trial where Buffy's powers are taken.

Yeah those were just suggestions for the general concept, we'll see if anyone else climbs aboard the next few days. If not we can in the mean time develop our own plot which may be simpler. I'll start coming up with ideas in that case.

Do what you do Knight. At this point the plot is in no small part going to deal with how many we get. If we have a lot I have an excellent story in mind (huge fan all 12 seasons if you count angel. 13ish if you could the comics) and it's something that's never been done yet utterly rational for the universe.

If we have only a few I won't (or might not) waste it and will go with someone else probaly someone established

so if we do have a vampire slayer slayer would it have to fight other demons or vampires to improve its ablities.

I've got the perfect enemy for the Slayer and taps in to the mythology well. I think Joss would be proud of me. I just need more players or something. Maybe we should repost this as an SRP. It's so much more popular than RP that a crappy idea with bad players there will get infinitely more love than a perfect idea here.

if it's posted as a thread in srp it will be degraded to smut, that's my experience from past threads I've posted there. I see no reason why advertising it in srp cant lead some players here.
