The greatest rapper in the country is white and the greatest golfer is black. Certainly a portent of the end.

Tiger and Eminem. That's who.

Very interesting observation Ambrosious, but I'm trying to figure out why you think this would be a bad thing.

Eminem is the best rapper in the country? Well holy fuckin gawd. I had the most atrocious dream the other night that Eminem was really Dirk13 and he wanted to get into my muffin tin. I don't know why, but he kept trying. Bent the damned thing too. I was sooooooo incredibly pissed, you have any idea how much a good muffin tin costs?

Now wait a minute. I never said it was bad, just backwards. It has got to mean SOMETHING!

I have to disagree

Ummm, even though I like Eminem's music, and I think he's good, he is not the greatest rapper. I would have to say that there are at least 10 or so guys better, Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, just to name a few. I still think Em is a very clever artist though.
Now the Tiger Woods thing I don't know if he is or not, I don't watch golf, but I bet he's paid.

Purple Haze

You remind me, the other day my brother and I were arguing over whether or not Queen's We Will Rock You could be considered the first "rap" song to make it big. Hmmm...Freddy Mercury as a rapper?

Best Rapper

There's this woman at the mall who can do five gifts in under five minutes once you pick out the paper you like, all for a very modest donation. Best rapper I ever saw.

Sugar I thing you are confused, come sit next to me and I will cuddle up and explain it.

I don't know Nitelight....my butcher does a pretty fine job at rappin'! :D

What about "The Rapper" "Rappers Delight" and "The Breaks"? And I think that "We Will Rock You" hit in 1978. Never saw this turning into an actual discussion.

Eminem? I could get his lunch money.

Somebody should spank the little punk.

That would be The SugarHill gang and Curtis Blow you're referring to and yes they were certainly pioneers of rap. Although Queen's We Will Rock you came out before Rapture, Rapture is acknowledged to be the first rap song that hit it big.

Bob Dylan

"Subterranean Homesick Blues" came out in the early sixties.

I'm not sure what it's highest chart position was, but it is rap.
