Autumn heard the seriousness in his voice and looked down at her his hands holding hers then back at him. He opened the door and let her take in her lovely new apartment and then he set her things into her bedroom.

When he came down, she was looking around in wonder and he smiled and came up, and put his arm around her. He wasn't making a move, he was showing her he was there and he cared. "Autumn, I know you think I am doing you a huge favor here, but I have a feeling this house needs you, every bit as much as you feel you need it. You don't have to be embarrassed or put on an act with me. I find you very special just as you are, and I feel it is us who are lucky, I hope we don't let you down...." Doug went out and he felt guilty, yet had no reason to. It was just that with her very presence Autumn had brought life and fun into their house, beyond that of just his wonderful daughters.
