The Siren Cafe(OOC casting call)

Over a period of many years, people around these beaches have made claims of seeing merpeople or things that could not be explained. Scientists deem it impossible and skeptics raved on eye tricks, but none knew that the legends were true.

It was five years ago that I did the most stereotypical thing a mermaid could do.. I saw a human boy fall into the water during a storm and I pullled him to shore. I knew how stupid it was and that I'd never hear the end of it from the elders, but I did it anyway.. They always said that saving a human male would make you fall instantly in love and I think they were correct.. I sat there beside him and looked at his face. He was gorgeous and I wanted more than anything to kiss him, but these things were forbidden and slipped away as he woke and looked at me with those shocked eyes. I haven't forgotten those eyes and I fear I never will. I look for those eyes in the cafe every night, but I never find them.. Gods, why did the elders have to be right?

The basic plot line here is magical and legendary beings living along side humans by changing to blend in with them. The possibilities are endless.. We will need plenty of humans for them to meet. Legend meets reality in the Siren cafe and kareoke bar.


I ask that each person playing a magical being have a flaw that could reveal their secret.

Seria

Age: 20 in human years
Hair: Dark brown almost black and curly
Eyes: blue like the sky on a clear day

When a mermaid her fish tail is a silvery blue color. In this story mermaids can be completely human as long as they don't become wet. Seria is a bit closed off and works at the Siren Cafe, which harbours many magical beings during it's open hours.


I need someone to play the human male Seria saved along time ago. I promise to try to minimize the sappiness and do a different take on this story..

Average build and height. A bit shy but fairly funy and friendly. A few years ago he had almost drowned but something had saved him. His memory was fuzzy on the event and something inside him keeps him closed to the ocean so he eats at The siren's call almost every night, looking at the waves.

You can play whatever you wish as long as you feel you can develope the character into the storyline and do that character justice.

Hey I have an idea for a character for this thread if you will allow me.

Jasper Whitehorse
Being Type: Elf
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 180
Hair: Long and Brown
Eyes: Green
Distinguishing feature: Jasper can easily be told from a normal human from his pointed ears and his gracefulness. He is also a great singer. He covers up his ears mostly, so that he can pass for a human.

Taliah can transforn into human form at will but here eyes and hair do not change which many humans are disturbed by.

When in dragon form she resembles the dragons of the east, serpent like and silver as the clouds above.

When in human form she is slender and petite wearing a simple halter and long skirt. Her hair and eyes are her most prominate striking feature which she brushes off as strange genes from her mother's side.

she hates the sea and the isolation of her race within. So she spends much of her time upon the shores at the Siren cafe in human form.

She walked the pier as a child and fell in love with the sounds she heard coming from the waves. She longed to live among the creatures as they sang their songs. She wished that she could also see the creatures that made the sounds. Knowing she could not, she would listen for hours on end. She would sit at the Siren and listen. Talking only modestly to one or another as she was acknowledged, she was quite reserved almost frighteningly shy. She wanted to work that all out and be outgoing. She had been told she had quite the personality but her love of the slow heart wrenching ballads kept her singing and singing for she felt that was what the sea creatures sang about. Love, lost and found.
