Okay, someone help me out here.

Which expansion packs should I get for this game?

I have The Sims Deluxe and Hot Date... what else is essential?

And how do I run a game with all these expansion packs at one time?

Oh and how do you manage to develop a character when every 10 seconds they gotta run to the toilet??

Help!

Sims players, talk to me! :D

ooh i was addicted to the sims for awhile... as for expansion packs, they're all good. I didn't personally like hot date that much but you pretty much just need them all. some of the expansions you can't install without having installed the others first.

you don't need to load them all at the same time. install them in the right order (living large, then house party, then the others) and then i think you can just start playing with the latest expansion cd or even the original. (i'm not 100% about that one but i'm pretty sure)

as for building characters, it's called cheats... serious money cheats so that you can work on their characters at first without having to send them off to work for 8 hours a day. you can get them a job later but it's so much easier to make friends (to advance your career and such) and get things done when you have lots of money! (the crime career track is actually really amusing and very profitable)

and have fun with them, like build a swimming pool with no ladders for them to get out... or rock the bed until you have a baby. when social services comes to take it away (they almost always do, those stupid babies are impossible to take care of!) pause the game and build a wall around the social services lady... it's really damn funny. if you set off fireworks in the house, your house will catch fire. build a wall around the fireman. spend lots of time playing with the chemistry set, then drink all the potions you make. one of them makes you a clone, it walks around and disturbs stuff, really damn funny....

anyways. i hope that answers your question!

sadly i just recently had to cancell my sims online subscription :'(

I wish you hadn't said that. I got Morrowind today, but now I'm wishing I picked up The Sims instead! Oh well, that will be my next game.

Morrowind is far easier to pick up than The Sims, and yeah, technically speaking, The Sims is a forever and ever game, but the only way you are ever going to run out of stuff to do in Morrowind is if you have no job and play Morrowind 24/7. Even if you use cheats you aren't going to finish Morrowind and its 2 expansion sets in a year's time.

I still haven't gotten it done yet, and I've been beating on it since 2002.

You definitely made the right choice... and for a FPS or RPG person, Morrowind (which is a FPS and RPG all at once) is much easier on the nerves than The Sims.

As I'm finding out now

Do you ever use cheats on this beastie? :D

is The Sims really considered an RPG? I wouldn't compare it to Morrowind, though (which i just got for xbox this weekend!).

are you playing in super fast mode, LT? I usually play it in the regular time mode and just put washrooms all over the house so that it isn't far to get to one.

The Sims should be considered a habit forming drug, not just a game!
I play The Sims in fast mode, sometime, just to make things pass. When I play it in normal mode, it goes too slow for my taste, and too fast for me to go off and do something else while it's running.

Have you ever played The Sims Online?

And Morrowind isn't just an RPG; it's The Way Games Oughta Be :D I never made a subject line about Morrowind because I never imagined many Litsters would want to bother with such a deep and involving game that isn't nearly as light-hearted as The Sims.

i did a few times when i couldnt afford some expensive stuff, i wanted

Okay now I have MORE problems besides my Sims wetting themselves. I got rid of the coffee maker which is the catalyst for this problem, but my Sims won't execute commands that I give them.

I tell a Sim to go to bed, they go and then get back up, or they just stand there and refuse to go until they fall asleep on the floor.

And the incessant problems with telling them to get the damned plates off the table (with the flies all around them) and they not doing it, is driving me insane!

Even when I remove autonomous behavior, they simply won't obey.

Help!!

Gee, it sounds like someone is getting addicted to their game. I'll let you know when I get my self-help group started.:D

If it weren't so frustrating, I'd be playing it a heck of a lot. But right now I'm doing the thieves guild quests in Morrowind :D

i love the sims i have all the expansion packs but superstar is REALLY frustrating me at the mo. There seems no logic to getting the stars.
But there are some great cheats, i downloaded a baby pic that every time you look at it it makes all your bars green so you never have to eat and sleep or go to the bathroom, frees up so much time. Plus a comp that will let you buy skills (each skill costs your sims ten simoleons and taks about 5 secs to aquire) plus you can change to any job and make friends with every one in your neighbourhood at the click of a button:D

Now i am having so much more fun, there are so many free websites for you to explore so much possibility:D
