Umhh are you watching it with a critical eye? You need to really watch the Simpsons on multiple levels. The first level is all the funny nonsense that goes on and the second level is the critiques of modern life that happens in every show.

In one episode marge and homer are in bed. Homer is going in for surgery for some reason I forget why. They are both worried but then Homer says, "Don't worry marge the Unites states has the best health care system of any country in the world, Except Japan, Canda..." the list keeps going.

You can find many examples of this in almost every episode. In fact my Comm studies prof used the Simpsons as an example of a main stream institution fighting agianst the hegemonical world.

Simpsons is not stupid. Full house is stupid. At least in the Simpsons, they all have problems with each other. Full House? HA! "Huggy-kissy I'm so sorry, let's be a closer family 'coz Mom died" blah blah blah.

It's so unrealistic it makes me puke. I swear, those girls have won more contests, more lotteries, and had more famous people come to their house than ever possible. And yet some people try to say "it's the perfect show about family life."

Cartoons

Us little boys, and even us big boys, need our cartoons. I gotta have my Simpsons, my Futurama, and my South Park. Ifa woman can laugh at South Park, if only once in a while, then I know she has a good sense of humor. "Bigger, Longer and Uncut" is a classic.

I can understand women not liking "The Man Show" - I don't watch it often - but even it is humorous from time to time.

In a sense a lot of shows are "dumb" in one way or another, including the Simpsons. But then there is totally stupid, like the "reality" shows, and then there are shows like "Dukes of Hazzard" which would require an intellect of a ten year old to sit through.

Hi Cartoon addict here

Simpsons is funny on so many levels, each time you watch an ep that you have seen before there is something new to laugh at.


I watch them daily and as sick as it is i can quoat most anyshow (wow do i sound like a looser), and most anything that happens everyday in the real world can be related to the simpsons, i find this helps to loosen up serious situations if needed.

Now i ask you how can the show suck that bad if it has been on TV for 15 years, and still is one of the most watched shows?

Well yes it can; not only is "Dukes of Hazzard" still playing in syndication, but they are making new episodes with different people playing the two guys in the orange car.

There is no accounting for some people's taste in entertainment.
