I read up on the Dpro shot and it seems REALLY realible and extremely easy. The cost is similar to the pill, but my gf may have an aversion to getting a shot multiple times a year.

There are several threads here discussing Depo Provera and problems people have had with it -- many summed up by may daghter's comment, "it appears to work by making you fat and ugly while it kills any desire."

one thread onthe subject: http://www.literotica.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=90359&highlight=Depo+Provera

Another just about Depo Provera: http://www.literotica.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=68954&highlight=Depo+Provera

Those should get you started -- the search function will turn up several others.

Depo makes you gain a LOT of weight

It makes your hair fall out, bleed unpredictably and cause massive bouts of acne.

It isnt that hard to take one tiny pill a day.

I just cannot accept that loading your body with that much synthetic hormones in one go can really be an okay thing to do, and there isn't a bigger price to be paid somewhere down the line later in life.

I tried Depo years ago.............

I gained 20 lbs or more, and YES; My sex drive was lowered. One other side effect was my cycle stopped completely. It took months for me to become regular again after I quit taking the shots.
My advise is to use the pill or seek other more permanent alternatives. Depends if your gf wishes to have children down the road.
I don't have that worry, as MY-Sir had that little problem taken care of after HIS last son was born.;) :D

LOL, the only "whore moans" I have now are all my own!!! :p

I just had my last shot in April and I did put on about 10 pounds after that. I lost it and then some with diet. I liked not having a period to contend with, but, I didn't like all the other side effects. The headaches, the backaches, the acne, the moodiness ... it was like I had permanent PMS. From now on, it's condoms for me and my better half since I can't take the pill.
